    Recurring vomiting every few weeks

Are you picking through what she has thrown up to see whether there are any obvious ’foreign’ bits present? I’m not an expert by any means and perhaps this course of action wouldn’t help but, in my amateur, it’d close one door. Hope you find a solution.

    Foster boy

Tinytom, May you be forever blessed. You lovely people. Words are insufficient. Here’s to a wonderful life for him. He’s landed well on his feet. It’ll be interesting to learn how he passes his first night chez toi. X

Our rescue puppy, Sid (8m Greyhound) is aggressive towards our 2yr Lab

That’s brilliant. He’s becoming part of the family and they’ll soon find their level within the household. There’s progress.

    Harness Recomendations for Lurcher

I agree. In her early ‘angst ridden’ weeks with us the Ruffwear harness was irreplaceable. She couldn’t houdini her way out of it and it was useful to be able lift her using the handle if she played up crossing roads. I appreciate that this was undignified for her but it was safe and expedient...

    Swollen pad

Whippylove, here are photos I took of her forepads this morning. They’re not clear as she wasn’t at her most cooperative.

    Harness Recomendations for Lurcher

Dear, oh dear! There’s always an expert ¿Verdad? From what I’ve read a lurcher is a sighthound cross. As for the rationale for using a harness we discovered from the very start that our rescued whippet could get out of the traditional sighthound collar as well as a martingale. Having tried...

Our rescue puppy, Sid (8m Greyhound) is aggressive towards our 2yr Lab

He is gorgeous and you’re so lucky. He’ll reward you 100% and more. I agree with Tinytom = there’s saluki in there somewhere. What you may see as aggression isn’t by any means. He’s had no consistency nor routine in his life hitherto. Just heed the advice (and reassurance) from the experiences...

    Swollen pad

Mabel’s forepads have always seemed somewhat irregular. I’ll take a photo in the morning. She’s absolutely cream crackered at the moment - we’ve been walking on beaches and she’s sound asleep. Bear with me.

    Itchy dog

Mabel’s on half a 16mg Apoquel tablet daily. A very small supply came with her in 2019 when we adopted her with the instruction “use when needed”. We’d never had an itchy dog before so we were completely in the dark. However, she did begin scratching with an intensity and, after some online...

So would I, Flobo. It’s having ‘Mug’ on my ample forehead that does it.

What a horrible start for the mite. Heart goes out.

    Teeth

Following Mabel’s dental treatment three weeks ago i reintroduced chewing treats gradually. I was apprehensive with hide sticks covered with dried chicken but she only strips the chicken away. She’ll have a chew on the hide but then discards it - I do keep an eye on her. I used to give her...

    The Dog Cafe

This attitude really hacks me off big time. So many people prioritising their wants before the needs of the dog. We saw it during lockdown - people not able to get out so a dog was acquired ‘for company’ and now there’s a glut of poor critters who have had no choice in the matter waiting for...

    Terrorised by cats!

You seem to have reached an impasse with the cats’ owners. I suggest that you have every right to give the cats a thorough soaking should they place themselves in a situation which is dangerous for them. You’d be doing it for their protection. With luck, the wind behind you and three Hail Marys...
