I hope your foot problem can be managed with the proper treatment, MM xx

At the moment theres not a lot the gp can do she suggests wearing support soles (I do that anyway)and talking to my physio to see if theres anything I can change or do to avoid problems . Shes also suggested taking extra magnesium.
Id like to avoid nsaids as long as possible they make me sick.

But the good news is that walking is good for me... not all bad then...

The moment that you realise your not the boss....
OH was playing with Murphy this afternoon and although OH thought he was in charge the Tshirt gave the game away.

Have you tried Golden Paste? It's made from turmeric, related to ginger, and it's an anti-inflammatory but also easy to digest. Recipes online but basically turmeric boiled with water, coconut oil and importantly freshly ground black pepper to activate something in the mix. T had an elbow injury that just wasn't quite going away when he was on metacalm . I started him on the paste and it cleared up. Obviously it might have been on the point of going anyway, we will never know, but it couldn't have done any harm and it makes a nice marinade for prawns ;)

Read up on it because I dont eat shell fish but it seems you can make tea with it or use it in hot milk drinks or as a spread, sounded yummy but theres a warning about using it when you have or are prone to kidney stones...Id rather give birth to twins without pain killers than go through kidney stones again, so I think this might be a non starter for me.

That's a pity. The marinade for prawns was a little tongue in cheek, but what a shame it's not for you. My late father had kidney stones once, I have never seen him look so ill, even when he was actually more unwell in later life. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

Its July 22nd and that means its Murphys birthday...From this

He's a big boy now, still working on issues of nervousness and anxiety but hes getting there with Georges help. His diet plan is working a treat, his allergies all gone.
For the know it alls who said 'why dont you get a pup instead of the cast offs from the rescue that way you will have the perfect dog' Here is the proof that even with a fantastic breeder and careful socialisation and training there is no guarentees that the pup you choose with be flawless. The perfect dog is the one that fits with you and your family, the one you love to bits no matter what and in this case Murphy fits the bill.
Happy third birthday Murph's ...(there might even be cake later!)

Happy birthday Murphy :) That's one full tum he has in the puppy photo!

I know, he was a fat little thing that photo was at 4 weeks, his mum managed to keep all 8 pups fat and happy.

Not Murphy but George. When we adopted him his owner warned me he will run off if he gets the chance, so we have been really careful and we have been practising recall with a long line and lots of treats.
This morning just after this photo it happened, George somehow slipped his harness. He was off running down the path like a half dog half antilope bouncing happily along tracking whatever it was he could smell... OH and I took off in hot pursuit , well as two older people who dont run it was more of a lukewarm pursuit as we half jogged half died trying to avoid rabbit holes and slippery grass but catch this runaway.
George George come on good boy here.. George come here....
I was calling in the vain hope it might have an effect and so I was totally shocked when he stopped and came running back to OH all happy and wagging. He was greeted with cuddles and treats for being a good boy and we gasped our way round the rest of the walk....
An adjustment to his harness now and the order of a houdini type coming up.

What a difference a dog makes...

My grandchildren were dropped off yesterday the agreement was just for the night but then mummy the other grandma got so wasted at a wedding they couldnt get out of bed until 2pm!
Anyway, Murphy has never been keen on children because we dont have them around much and my grandson is severly autistic so he screams and flaps if anything upsets him (he is non verbal and almost everything upsets him).
Normally Murphy is grumpy and growly hiding under tables and avoiding them.
But I noticed in April when they arrived 3 days after George arrived that he behaved a bit calmer with them and this time the change was a lot more noticeable. He barked at the adults who dropped the kids off but then he just stopped and ignored the children , he didnt hide but he didnt follow or pester them. George loved all the attention from my granddaughter and Murphy just snoozed in his regular place and when he walked past my granddaughter he paused for a little pat.
So the dogs were calm but sadly the same cant be said for OH who has been so stressy and snappy for the past 29 hours that my head aches. He just cant cope with the screeching, the not speaking, the flapping, the comfort blankets, the not eating proper food, etc etc etc. :(

I can commiserate with your OH - I remember my dad and I would try to hide in a corner (though never under a table) when we went to visit my aunt and uncle and their hordes of noisy children.

But wow, the change in Murphy is amazing, isn't it? I'd love to know how this all works in terms of dog psychology.

It was raining but oddly warm this morning and we've already cleared away the swimming pool so we thought it would be nice to give Murphy a (possibly) last chance to swim this year.. Of course he didnt need telling twice although George just stood on the sand and tried to avoid all the wetness!

Im wondering about taking George to hunt training , not because I want him to hunt its exactly the opposite I need to find a way to control his urges. He's been with us a few months now and his true colours are showing he is a devil when it comes to deer. (or cats) other things dont really interest him that much but if he so much as suspects a deer is in the area he is uncontrollable. He barks, he whines, he howls, he pulls, he lays down and does commano style sneaking, in short anything that will get him nearer his prey.

I am so angry with myself this morning, I didnt notice that my boot lace had come loose and I took a tumble on a gravel path..
As I had stood on the lose lace I couldnt even steady myself. Luckily OH was there to help me up and take the dogs. He continued to the playground while I did a few repairs at the car, we always have a full first aid kit with us and fresh water for the dogs plus hand sanitizer for the finger through the bag moments!
We carried on with our main walk but my had was throbbing like hell..
Ive lost the nail on my little finger and quite a bit of skin plus it looks like I will have a nice black eye..
Ive done a proper clean and bathe in disinfectant now and its all ok just going to be stiff for a while.

All my own stupid fault for daydreaming. But I am feeling sorry for myself, on a side note ..I have made a request for personal airbags for my birthday!
