Woodside is a romantic historic,LUXURY cottage, ideal for couples and families.It was a lodging house for the young mill workers from the Stott Park Bobbin Mill (as featured on BBC 1’s Britain’s Hidden Heritage) and today the mill is owned by English Heritage. You’ll be staying in a piece of history!

Woodside is dog friendly with wood and tiled floors on the ground floor and 2 gardens to enjoy: a patio garden and cottage garden.
The location is fabulous, being in the heart of the National Park and by lake Windermere, with Lakeside and Newby Bridge a stone’s throw away! Such a central lakes location will enable you to see so much of the lake District and we have the fabulous High Dam to walk to.

We are exceptionally CHILD FRIENDLY with high chair, travel cot, stair gate, fire guard, baby bowls and cutlery, books and toys all provided free of charge, so leaving more room in your car.

Woodside’s OAK BEAMS and window seats within its thick walls, make the spacious lounge with its fabulous INGLENOOK FIREPLACE and LOG BURNER cosy for nights in with a bottle of wine, whilst the romantic master bedroom with Egyptian cotton sheets, designer fabrics and luxury ensuite is a haven after a hard days sightseeing. All bedrooms have designer fabrics and Egyptian cotton bedding.
Woodside is a hideaway of PEACE AND QUIET superbly well equipped,it’s an ideal base,many of the attractions can be reached on foot, you can forget the car!
There is private parking for 2 cars with visitor parking nearby.

The master bedroom has a power shower in the en-suite whilst in the family bathroom you can enjoy a power shower or a long leisurely soak in a contemporary setting.
Woodside is ideally situated being within walking distance of Lake Windermere. There is a file of ‘local walks’, some right from the front door. It is in a wonderful area for DOGS with walks from the door and plenty of fields, footpaths etc. 20 GEOCACHES within 2 mile.

If peace, serenity and a superb walk with the dog is what you seek, then High Dam is ideal. It must be one of the most peaceful lakes in the whole of the Lake District, and was much favoured by Alfred Wainwright. He thought it, “far superior to Tarn Hows.” High praise indeed.

And best of all you can walk to it from Woodside!
