Welcome to K9

You migt have to go further afield , esp if you want one for showing , be careful though as there are a few puppy farmers out there , esp in the Buxton area which isnt too far from you ,

You could go onto breed club websites and ask for litters ,some breed clubs include

Northern Counties whippet club. Midland Counties W C , Whippet Club of Scotland , South Yorkshire Whippet Club , North Eastern Whippet Club, Nationl Whippet Club , THE Whippet Club East Anglian Whippet Club, Im sure one of the secs from one fo theses clubs could help, If not PM me and I will help

There is a show at Stafford County show ground onThurs 20th Jan , loads of whippet folk will be thire , as will I

Jackie , and the MULCAIR Gang

Welcome to all new members. Can I make a plea for all those looking for a puppy and especially a puppy to show, please make the breed club secretaries your first port of call. They will be able to help with all aspects of whippet owning and have knowledge of puppies and reputable breeders in your local area. As Jax so rightly points out there are many people breeeding whippet puppies just because they can, please do your homework and if we on this board can help in any way please contact us (especially Jax!!!) and we will help all we can.

All aspects of the breed have specialist forums on here, please take a little time to read through and if you need advice the forum moderators will look after you.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a happy, healthy puppy with its new family, please do all you can to make sure that your experience of owning a whippet is like this.

Can I also mention that there are many rescue organisations looking for forever sofas for whippets who have encountered difficult times, please consider these precious whippets when making your decision.

Good Luck to all potential whippet owners, it is flippant to say you will never regret it because being realistic some people do, but the joy of owning a whippet is one of the finer things in life.
