Hi all,

We lost our retired greyhound of 12 a few months ago. We haven't had a pup for 13 years (the age of our collie cross), so greyhound pups it is! They are very easy as young ones go and I'd recommend if you are new to dogs.

This was last night chasing around the field (5 months old):

These were a few weeks ago :D

Thank you :D

Kim (the black one) is a little pest when it comes to teasing our cats, testing the lead training or stealing the other dogs chewies. Separate walkies has got the pulling just about sorted for her now, she pulls, I hold the lead, she looks up (good girl), stops and we off we go again.

Mel is calmer, very easy on the lead, sleeps with one cat and also now trained to retrieve toys on the field.

They are growing exponentially now - every morning I am met by new, bigger, pups:- 2yr old malamute/Husky we meet on the field has the speed edge on them, more stamina and experience and about 6" in height. 10 minutes flat out chasing each other soon puffs the greyhounds out - then they are all rolling on their backs and playing with him. Mel is determined when chasing though and he's going to get a suprise soon!

After walkies a few nights ago:-

Awww they are really cute! How is your collie cross coping with two young upstarts in the house? He/she is also very cute. It's amazing how fast pups grow up. Blink and you've missed it. Good luck with them.

We now have 3 pups! The collie cross has decided to shed 12.5 years, revert to a puppy and enjoys a roll around on the carpet as much as the other two. 3 chewies and they all want the same one and will wrestle for it - doggie floor show!

Chloe really missed our old greyhound Sophie and pups have made her a lot happier.

Pups get tired and have to be laid down on occasion at the end of the night, but that is reducing all the time and they all get on well. Greyhound calmness seems to be gaining every day. Mel is a very calm and measured dog. Kim a lttle bit clingy and very cheeky.

Keith.

Sounds fantastic Keith. It's amazing how sometimes pups can bring out a new lease of life in an older dog. Good luck with them. Keep the photos coming!

Beware of giant doggies! They are doing really well - both are over 25Kg at 8 months and mix on the field with most dogs - even the ancient (blind) yorkie and the small white fluffy things! Mel (no#1 tan dog) is particularly good with any other dogs, Kim (black one) needs a bit of control with small/frightened ones until they have had a good sniff.

The vets puppy party has had a very good effect on both dogs:-

Awwww they are lush!! love the puppy party :teehee:
Puppy party really good - the vet offers advice and tries to sell dogfood, but has absolutely no chance! All the dogs benefit from being together - with the added bonus that there is no more fear of going to the vets
