Thought .......

Maybe , as this is probably the widest read forum .... we could start a kind of petition ????

Maybe , if everyone who appreciates TWA for the value it can bring to the Whippet World , were to show their support HERE ......

Karin may well hear about it and realize that her work IS appreciated ....... and allow us to have this wonderfull tool back !!!!!!

You will have to thank mainly some British whippet breeders for my decision who persistently schemed against TWA.

I wonder why this statement doesn't surprise me in the least

I for one am gutted that we have lost this very special data base thanks to a few nasty people that have abused it!

I wonder if it could be set up so every individual had to have a password to gain access to their own dogs information?????

Please please Karin,we want TWA back

I am adding my pleas to return TWA to the public domain again....... PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE

There must be some way of securing the site so that one can only access one's own details but be free to read any others?

And .............. to those who have messed around with details, if they are on K9, are you enjoying this??? Getting some sort of cheap thrill out of causing trouble????

Wake up, smell the coffee and get a life!!!!!

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeas bring back the archives!!!!

Have spent many hours on there. So sad to see all that data taken down.

i can just imagine how thrilled the rest of the whippet world will be when they find out o:)

The problem is that "your" details are not just yours, unless you only breed from dogs you bred and own and never allow any of your pups to go to somebody who will breed from them. Then the dogs in background of our pedigrees belong to people who may be dead, or not interested. I have spent many hours going through my old catalogues etc. and entering any dog that I knew was bred from, or thought it most likely has been used for breeding.

If people were not allowed to enter a dog unless they owned it half of the entries would not be there.

Maybe there could be some way for people to be able to lock verified pedigrees, but I imagine that would require Karin or her helpers to spend lot of time implementing.

TWA may not be perfect, but it was so valuable, absolutely priceless.

Come on Karin PLEASE put it back on, it was very handy.

My dog was put on without my knowing. I was surprised but not angry.

I also enjoyed browsing my dogs ancestors.

Such a shame to lose a very easy to use and informative site.

You have my backing what a cracking forum TWA was

Same as with everything the moaners & spoilers win again i agree you should hang your heads in shame as now everyone looses out on what was without doubt the best thing that has been available for whippets & their owners in many years & this was a voluntary service provided by Karin Schellner as so often happens with events/shows/racing & now this its the people who do NOTHING for our breed who spoil it for the people who do.

Due to repeated personal attacks concerning copyright and other issues, I’m sorry to say that I don’t feel I am in the position of running the Whippet Archives website any longer.

I would like to thank all of the whippet friends who supported me with this project over the past few years. Needless to say that, I’m aware how disappointed some of you will be. You will have to thank mainly some British whippet breeders for my decision who persistently schemed against TWA.

I most likely won’t be able to respond to emails on this issue due to time constraints.

Karin

I am so very sorry that you have been made to feel this way.

Any form of bullying is so very wrong.

I have no idea who is responsible but hope that they apologise.

Once again so sorry.

What a real shame :( Really enjoyed looking at the Archives and adding my own dogs. Why could'nt it be sorted out properly and adult like, instead of getting personal attacks, how very sad.

WOW ,,,Look at the date

HMMMMMM I Wonder !!!!!!

Suppose time will tell.

One can only hope , don't think this one is an' April Fool '...... just lots of fools .................................................

:( what a massive loss ,

i don't blame the site creators for closing it, i think i would have done the same if all i got was abuse for my efforts,

and all thanks to those who'd rather moan and gripe about a very useful site that people have laboured over and is offered free to everyone,

if you don't like something, attempt to improve or better it, don't just drag it down and spoil things for everyone

Have to say I know the feeling. You need a thick skin sometimes, there's always someone who complains no matter what you do. Shame Karen felt she couldn't continue but you can't blame her for feeling that way and she personally has probably had to take all the flak on her own. TWA was a great idea too.

how can we get the site back it was full of information on our breed

I am sorry The Whippet Archives has been taken off-line. Let's hope Karin feels that she can re-open it at sometime, maybe with support from people who are already well-known breed archivists, Avalonia is one such person, I wonder if there are others with such a depth of breed knowledge.

Please bring back TWA .

I have a 12 year old rescued whippet . In her previous life she was shown and produced 3 litters of very successful pups both here and abroad . I really enjoyed looking at her photos when she was young and also the photos of her prize winning pups .

Also my beloved whippet was PTS in December , she never had pups but it brought me some comfort to look at photos of her relatives and how like her they were .

I am really sad that some idiots have spoiled things for the majority of really nice genuine people :(

I loved looking at TWA - such an incredible resource for all whippet owners/breeders. My whippets are pets and I don't show, although have occasionally attended racing with them, but I still loved looking at this wonderful site.

I was so thrilled that my first whippet was on there and I could see his ancestors. There was a minor error in the details, but it was soon corrected. I added the two whippets that I have now, but I would not have objected at all if their details had been put on by someone else. How else would details of whippets long gone be added, whose owners were also no longer with us, unless added by others?

Such a sad day for all whippet lovers worldwide - as always the few spoil it for the majority. :(
