Hello everyone....

For some days now Sidney has been very clingy, he hasn't been off his food at all , has been playful, but he hasn't wanted to be far from us.

We've just come in from a lovely walk across the fields.... took some photos which I will pop on later on.

Sidney tends to run and scent everywhere and Ben bounds about like a spring lamb.

Well we had to cut the walk short and come straight home as Sid scented but it was thick blood he passed... he then just plonks himself down in the grass and took some persuading to get up again.

So we have come straight in and Ian went to give Sid some water but he isn't wanting anything, while I rang the vet and we've managed to get him seen at 3pm.

Ben is here crying as Sid was whizzed past him in a sorry state :(

From what I can see on the internet it could be a urinary tract or kidney infection..... fingers crossed the little fella will be ok

How awful for you. It is so frightening when you do not know what the problem is. Fingers crossed Sid is OK :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

Aw, thank you everyone for your lovely messages.

Ian has just come back with a sorry looking Sidney... apparently he has an an infected prostate and the vet has told us to seriously think about getting him done.

We have always said that if it wasn't a problem then with both the boys we wouldn't.

It wasn't our usual vet that Ian saw.

We have a course of antibiotics to give him and to keep an eye on him over the next few days.

He is due back to see the vet again next Friday

poor little man , sending lots of hugs your way , think you all need them xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

love from the gang here xxxxxxxxx

Thanks Tanya,

It is awful when they get ill, I get so tearful as we went through hell with our greyhound Jacques when he had cancer of the spleen 4 years ago and I can't help but think the worse as it happened so fast and with in 4 months Jacques was no longer with us.

I am now thinking that if Sid is going to have prostate problems then it may be a good idea to get him sorted in that department :(

Poor Sidney. Hope the antibiotics give him some relief.

Poor boy :( :( - good luck whatever you decide but it sounds as though you may not have a choice other than to go for the prostrate op if it's severe. :luck: :luck: :luck:

Sorry to hear Sid is poorly , I hope he recovers well . Lots of hugs from us here XX

What a frightful shock for you all, Rachie :( but I'm glad to hear that it is quite a straightforward thing to sort out for Sidney :)

I wouldn't hesitate in having him neutered, he will be much safer in the long run, and I'm sure it won't alter his character at all - Irie stayed exactly the same, even down to fancying the girls when they're in season

Good luck with the recovery! Bet he'll be back running around in no time

Get well soon Sid :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

Im glad hes back home with you and i hope

he starts to improve very quickly :huggles:
