I had a lovely whippet cross (possibly with border collie but not known for definite). My Meggy lived to be very nearly 18, by which time she'd lost most of her teeth, had gone deaf and couldn't see terribly well. She still was eating well and liked to go for a very slow walk around the block...

Bless you for adopting that poor dog - you won't regret it because greyhounds are the dearest dogs ever and no trouble at all.

Agree with the water only then light diet - macaroni cheese works well for Breeze. However, if that doesn't work then Prokolin is very good - expensive but it works. Greyhounds seem to have fussy tummies so I find I need to be careful what I feed Breeze - not like out little terrier menace...

Thank you amumwithapony for bringing this to everyone's attention. I live in an area where there are some people who use dogs for "street cred" and bring them up to be aggressive but like you, i would not have expected such aggressive behaviour from a greyhound cross towards other dogs. Cats...

Hello Flowerpot - I've just come back too. Don't know why I stopped then I couldn't seem to get back on the last time I tried. It was nice to be invited back. It's heartbreaking to lose your dogs but I'm sure you must get lots of love from the little menagerie you still have!

Poor sweet Kim! She will need lots of loves. Why are greyhounds so flipping daft! Luckily so far Breeze hasn't done herself huge damage but we've had two torn dew claws and one other torn claw - three separate occasions, so she definitely doesn't learn.
