How many have dogs that never come off lead?

Dogs are pretty adaptable. We live in a fairly populated area, so ours is never walked off leash. I will let her come with me off leash right around the house, IE: to get groceries etc from the car and her recall is very impressive, plus its rarely necessary as she really sticks close to me...

    We saw a new vet

Access to a Vet you trust is so important. We are very fortunate with ours, to whom we had taken Samantha, our last dog to, from the time we first adopted her, to the end, and Lexi our current dog for the almost two years we have had her. I talk to so many folks that are not happy with the Vet...

Most useless dog thing you've bought?

We had steps which our last dog used constantly to get on or off our bed. Current dog looked at the steps and just hopped up next to them, so I guess the steps are now pretty useless, since they are stored away.

Most useless dog thing you've bought?

Our house is so full of things for our dog. I guess the most useless item would be a crate, which we were told we had to have, both for our last dog as well as our current girl. Both dogs hated being in it, and frankly they do just fine having the run of the house, when we are home and when we...

Blue Cross call for an end to greyhound racing in the UK

I'm not a fan of either horse racing, or dog racing. It would certainly not break my heart to see both banned here as well as in the UK.

    Boarding kennels and dog daycare

I loath even the thought of leaving our girl at a kennel, but there are times where it has to be done. There is a doggie care facility nearby, that we have used a couple of times, only for day care, though they do provide overnight care too. I know many neighbors and friends that use them, and...

    Elderly dog bad breath

There could also be some gastric issues going on. If your Vet can't come up with a reason, I would go for a second opinion.

    Frenchie, sternum extends outward

Your Vet would be your best source for 'non-speculative' information.

    Heart Murmer

Heart murmurs can be caused by different issues. I picked up on your comment that the Vet said it had improved, and found the following online. ================================================= Innocent heart murmurs are harmless sounds made by the blood circulating normally through the heart's...

Random yelping and occasional small spots of blood, possibly issue with paw - Any ideas what to ask the vet

Wonder if perhaps something might be broken in that paw. Ask Vet see if he or she might consider an X-ray. Something is certainly not right.

Advice on reactivity and training/behaviour regression for 8 month old? 😢

Desensitization is what is working best for us. When she first came to us, she would totally freak out on walks, if she saw someone or another dog, even a block away. I used a nearby park, kept the distance between us an others where she was fairly comfortable, over time just gradually got...

    We hired a field!

Sniff Spot search did yield results in my general area. Good idea, will continue to check them out.

    We hired a field!

Sounds like a great idea. I'm not aware of that availability here in the U.S., but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
