We thought Jack Russel and something and yes cant quite work out if she is course or softer. The foster mum has sent me videos of her playing with her own dogs. Wonderful!

No it was just a bit of fun to guess really :) Yes she is in safe hands with her foster mum and dad. They have their own dogs and at least one cat. She asked if we wanted to change her name so she could start using it straight away. I have seen a video and she is extremely lively and cheeky!

Shes just so lovely. I will post again when we get her. She is about 8 weeks apparently, so will be 16 weeks when she comes home. What breeds do you think she could be?

She was rescued off the street with her two sisters and will live with a foster parent until the end of August

Hmm yes good point. So far the biggest dog that has sat there is a labradoodle, which was fine. I could see that if I had to brake quickly he wouldnt hit the dashboard but he was still comfortably seated within the length of the harness seatbelt restraint. So thats the largest dog we should get...

I will build an intergrated crate I think. It can double up as an open den/bed when Im working in the back (Im an artist, my van is my girl-shed). Like you say, it depends on the dog and we can talk to the fosterers about this too.

Yes I thought that - there isn't an airbag for the centre seat but I will research further whether the L/R hand airbags could affect them. Maybe it would just be best to keep them in a cage one their own in the back and make frequent stops do you think?

Thank you, everyone seems very lovely on here! And thank you for the reassurance too. I have searched online in detail on this subject and there doesn't seem to be definitive legal guidance, apart from keep pet/passengers safe.
