Years ago we bought 2 cot size duvets for the dogs. They are very light and perfect for them to burrow in which they love. They were about £7.50 each from Aldi and are still going strong with our current pair of dogs, wash and dry beautifully and they go everywhere with us.

Merle-to-merle breeding can be disastrous. Pups can be blind, some have no eyes, deaf and deformed. Unfortunately it's not always easy to spot a merle, or dapple as they're known in dachshunds, so accidental breeding happens. Hence my comment about DNA testing prior to mating.

Meg loved ice cream. To our horror we once turned round to see her enthusiastically licking the face of a toddler in a puschair! Luckily he had finished the ice cream or she'd have taken that too!
