I was having a tidy up and sort through my photo albums on my computer today and realized just how time has flown since the summer. I’ve also taken a number of pictures since the summer time, but as they didn’t really amount to much, I didn’t do anything with them. However, here are a few, as I feel like posting some photos of the boys.

One minute summer was ending and we were just starting to see the colours of autumn ….

Here are Fred and Stan enjoying a run in the mild autumn weather….

Fred’s has spotted something in the long grass…

No..he can’t find whatever it was…

Plodding along after his exertions…

And then the colours of autumn started to really set in…

More woodland walks (I thought these woodland shots looked better in black and white…)

The colours were lovely this year….

…almost there…up the slope…

And along the back ginnel…

Back to a nice warm bed….

and some homemade soup for me…

..and just to bring it bang up todate…it’s Christmas. Here are some decs…

And the smallest tree I could find!

Hope you enjoyed…excuse the poor quality and randomness of some of the pics.

Thay where lovely nicola , and yes the seasons change so quickly these days .

Enjoyed following fred home , bless him he needed a sleep

Loved the photos :)

Just one big favour......can I come for a walk with you.....the scenery looks so beautiful.

And so did the soup :p

lovely pictures..black and white ones look great.

Your whippet is really gorgeous..his body language really shows he's had enough and is in a hurry to get home and get warm...Woody used to have a way of standing and looking completely fed up even if you couldn't see his face, we knew he wanted to go home and he would walk home with a special determined step LOL.

can I have some soup too please :D

Lovely pictures, nice to see Fred tucked up in bed after his walk, thanks for sharing, lovely. :)

Lovely photos of Derbyshire scenery and your boys.   What could be better than a walk with the dogs in the snow and then to come back to home-made soup. Is the picture on your wall one of Fiona's (Zilloot)? I really love her work. :) :)

Yes...Fred doesn't like the cold snow and icey conditions we've had of late. He's 13 and feels his age a lot now.....

One of the photos is from the Calderdale Valley (Stan in front of a large Beech tree), Hebden Bridge way, so not really Derbyshire. Hardly worth mentioning really :b , except that they have the most gorgeous wooded valley running up to an area called Hardcastle Crags. The woodlands are exceptionally pretty in the autumn time and follow a beautiful river up the valley. There's also a mill there....a good excuse to add a few more photos:

Stanley determined to follow his dad across the stepping stones :)

Yes, the picture is Fiona's. I love her work too. It's a limited edition print, only 50 in the print run, so a nice picture to have.

It's very refreshing to see such lovely pictures and Fred looks very spritely, despite his years :D

I do agree that the autumn colours this year were stunning!! I noticed them too and was intending to take pictures but, as usual, never got round to it.

One of my plans for this year is to find a vantage point with lovely scenery and take a picture every month from the same place so that I have an annual record of the changing face of the land. Something I have thought of doing for a while now, just got to find the right place to take the picture

Thank you for posting these, Nicola! The black and white ones are especially captivating :D

Happy snapping in 2010!! x

ok Nicola...own up...did you make the soup to match perfectly with some of your tiles and buy the saucepan and for the same reason...far to arty for a bowl of soup lol...really enjoyed looking through your pics, Fred looks great...really lovely selection!

I often go back to the same places for a photo, and the novelty never wears off because they always looks different at different times of the year. I don't have a nominated spot though, but what a good idea. I think there are going to be a lot of changes to our landscape around here with the new housing quota that's been allocated to the High Peak (5000 homes  ) so it's worth recording the landscape for posterity...but that's for future times. Good luck with finding that spot....

Ah..sussed. I just need a matching soup bowl now. I wish I'd wiped those drips on the side of the bowl. I'll never make a chef :p

Aww lovely to see Fred, Nicola, he is ageing bless him, but seems to still enjoy life and his walks...

Those pictures were really nice and I especially loved those woodland tree shots...beautiful. There were

some lovely old twisted trees amongst them... thanks for sharing.

Lovely photos Nicola and I just love those photos of Fred walking home   Like the black and white ones too. I like the idea of 12 monthly photos from the same spot too although as we're possibly moving next year I may wait until 2011! :-

Who am I going to meet up with for whippet walks and whippet chats and taking photos? :( Try not to move too far away!
