W/news Regional Reports

ive just been reading thru some whippet news from 1995 when we 1st came into racing and i havent seen any regional reports as yet. was just wondering when they started? whose idea woz it etc etc? do u do the report 4 yr region? if so how long have u done it? have u done it from the very begining or has there been people b4 u? come on lets c whose done the reports over the years etc.

i do the north east report just incase u didnt know :p :lol: anyway i know ive done it 4 @ least 10 years now it maybe more but id have to look thru old copies to c when i 1st started doing it. how i got to doing it, hmmmm well, peter was @ an open @ coxlodge, me i was @ home relaxing, next thing i know when peter gets home he tells me ive been nominated into doing it, why me? i have no idea but i gave it a try & liked it so hence why im still doing it lol b4 me i know donna weatherson did it and b4 her molly patterson b4 that i dont know.

thought this mite make an interesting topic ;)

year ago before k9 whippet news was the only way of getting news what's won or lossed or what's on or what's for sale. Now you now what happen before whippet news is out so I wonder if that's why the reports I not. Getting send up
 
i always do a report dart for the north east region and most reporters do just wondering when it came about & whose idea it was etc?

I did it for a canny while Carol, but without looking through old Whippet News issues I am not sure how many years/ issues etc i did it for. I enjoyed it when I did it but due to work and mostly family commitments I could not continue. but you do a fantastic job of it Carol I always go straight to your report when the WN arrives to read what's going on in the north east whippet world, long may you continue. Chris started the regional reports when she took over as the editor of whippet news so ask Chris how long she's had the WN and that's the answer to how long they have been going for. Chris totally revamped the WN when she took it over she turned it into a much better quality Magazine

ahhh yes dave i vaguley remember u doing it now sometime, thanks for your answer, so chris cornish started them up? il have to ask her wot gave her the idea etc. think when im bored when no racing in il go thru some back copies etc :D
 
was a bit bored saying as my programmes arent on ie home & away, neighbours, doctors etc spo ive done some research. chris took over the w/news in 1997 theres nothing in jans about reg reporters and i dont seem to have febs just the cover but no mag lol anyway the regional reports had deffo started by march 1997 heres wot i found:

SOUTHERN REGION - SHEILA WEBB

EAST MIDLANDS - ANGELA DRUROSE

NORTH WEST - JULIE BATESON

then in may along came:

NORTH YORKS - ALISON ARMSTRONG

then june:

NORTH EAST - MOLLY PATTERSON WHICH CHANGED IN SEPT OF 1998 TOP DAVE WILCOX

then july:

SCOTLAND - ARTHUR COOK

then in oct it was:

WEST MIDLANDS - MARK COOPER WHICH CHANGED SOMETIME IN 1998 TO JOYCE HUTCHINGS

these days in julys w/news 2009 it was like this:

NORTH YORKS - SHARON STANLICK

SCOTTISH REPORT - VALERIE HAGGART

NORTH WEST - VICKY HARPER

NORTH EAST - CAROLE CRAIGIE ;)

SOUTH YORKSHIRE - LISA JACKSON

suer theres more but i cant find any in that issue ;)
