yup woke up 2 another layer in newcastle this morning and its trying very hard to snow again sky looks full :(

I'm snowed in, can't get over the canal and just been out watching tractors trying to tow wagons over. Tony's managed to get over in 4x4 but took him 1 1/2 hrs to get onto the lancs due to chaos on the other side of the bridge!

Been told east lancs has vehicles abandoned and a wagon's jacknifed causing chaos there.

Same here Wendy, from sitting last night at midnight and there not being a sniff of snow to snowing since we've gotten up, still going heavy. Can't risk trying to get the car out the drive, it's downhill on an angle and there'd only be one shot at it as there's no way the car would stop once it started rolling down.

All village schools closed, all bus services suspended, had one bus get stuck outside the house and another almost went clear across the road out the junction and straight onto the park, managed to get control just in time. Even had a snow plough round but I think even that's given up, 10 miles to the nearest town where Mum is due at work in 4 hours, glad I did the shopping yesterday. It's about 6 inches deep and hasn't stopped snowing heavily all morning.

Poor Mum trying to ring a taxi to get her 10 miles in to work, she's got a 24hr shift to get to - looks like local Taxi service has suspended too :sweating: he says there''s no chance of getting down the roads into Doncaster.

Just been told going out the village is a no go area, it's a big downhill to a junction where you're supposed to errr ... stop ?? at the bottom :-
