Aussies ...

I don't know the answer, I was hoping someone else would - I was just trying to investigate/understand something a judge said to me the other day.

What about a dog called Flashing (Flushing?) Coquette? Can anyone tell me anything about that? The name rang a bell but I can't seem to find anything...

Im wrong - Silkstone Jewel in the Crown was BIS at the SYDNEY Royal, not the BRISBANE Royal

The kennell name is "Flashing". I remember a noce one from there called Flashing El. Marco.

I have entered many Flashing dogs to TWA, but no Coquette.

Do you have any idea what year it was that Whippet won? I have access to most of the Royal catalogues, can check at least who was entered that year.

No Lida sorry he didn't say.

I think I'm gonna have to ring Aunty Pat!

Crikey , a man ADMITING hes wrong !! Must be a first ;)

But he was right in the end....

Helen Mc Glorian, Flashing Coquette. & it would of been in the 1940's or 50's. Well befor my time.

McGlorians were the breeders, yeah? And owner of this ... bitch, I assume? So was it Flashing Coquette who won the Royal?

The name is McGorien, Tom & Helen McGorien and they were in Sydney, breeding right up to 1970s. The first Flashing dog I have was born 1951.

I have Flashing Belle ( by Calpin Bartic Cyclone< out of Calpin Bartic Coquette)

Calpin Bartic guys used to go all over to show, could it be Calpin Bartic Coquette who won the Royal?

Interestingly, somebody entered her on TWA as BIS Aust Ch Calpin Bartic Coquette, if it was BIS at the royal, wish they have put that in the notes

Ian Doherty remembers the photo with Helen showing the whippet. He said she was much younger than when he knew her.

Well the MacGoriens did own Calpin Bartic Coquette, so it is possible it her?

Going to look through the Brisie catalogues for appropraite years.

Sounds like it could be Calpin Bartic Coquette, she was born in 1950. Cannot find any catalogue from that time. I am going to the VCA library on Tuesday; will have bit of snoop around old gazattes to see if I can find something about Whippet winning BIS.

My money is on Calpin Bartic Coquette is the mother of Royal BIS winner Flashing Coquette. Also another one from that litter went to Amasham kennels & was shown by Mr. Payne.

Yes I saw that and took note but couldn't find any record.

I was thinking that too Jon.

I don't actually want to quote what the judge said to me because I may have misunderstood so I was just trying to work it out myself.

The RNA would have to have an archive of all winners at the Ekka, wouldn't you think?

But probably not online and would probably cost to do a search.
