Just loving the boys new collars :D Braided kangaroo leather ... 2 in brown, 2 in black but there were lots of colour choices ... and silver gilt and green glass beads ... one of each leather colour has pale green and one of each a darker green, but there were a rainbow of colours to choose from. And yes I ordered four ... the pups only 2 weeks old, he'll have to grow into his ;)

Nicky they were custom made for me by Sally at www.hitidekangarooleads.shawwebspace.ca She also has an Etsy shop, just google Etsy hitide and kangaroo! Prices are in American $ even though she's in Canada. She is happy to work with you to agree a design, and was brilliant at emailng photos of ideas. And yes Juley they are beautifully made. I shall be ordering some show leads from her I think. Highly recommended :D

These are lovely.

I can see i will be spending a few £ on this site. :teehee:

That is gorgeous  And thanks for posting pics, I've been inspired to send for a book on leather braiding.

I love these tag collars. They look really gorgeous.

Dolly and Remmy wear their leather collars all the time and I feel it would be nicer for them to wear something more lightwieght in the house. However, I am a bit paranoid about them getting hooked up on something, so wondered how safe you feel these collars are as they are looser around the neck.

Well they only wear them in the house Sarah, and in the garden if supervised, because I'm aware of the dangers ... but the weight of the beads and tags seems to keep them in place at the base of their necks and they withstand a three way whippet wrestling match no problems. No one has got caught up or hung up or anything. They come off at night or if they leave the house though

Thanks. I guess I am a tad over cautious at times. :- In fact Dolly and Remmy are very idle in the house and don't often play, so I am sure they would be perfectly safe. :)

Too nice for dogs!!!! (w00t) I could nearly wear one of those myself (maybe without the bone, though).

Beautiful collars on beautiful dogs- thought you only had three? have obviously missed a thread.

ax

No you've not missed anything ... still only three here ... but there is a puppy pics thread from late June and my new boy is one of those babies :D

They are gorgeous collars but be careful you don't lose them. I used to have a similar one for Oscar my lurcher and he managed to lose it in a half acre garden (after 3 years of continuous wear) and we never found it again. He probably got it caught in the hedge but as we never found it I may be wrong. Still, his was rolled leather not plaited and very boring in comparison so maybe he was after an upgrade

BTW what gorgeous puppies! I didn't read the whole thread, which one have you chosen?

I haven't yet ! 7 to choose from, all lovely, maybe 4 I really, really like. But I don't want to choose until they are old enough for their individual characters to begin to show through
