just a handfull of us there last night the rest still sunning themselves down in Devon 8) track still looking good will be needing some rain soon, there's sure to be some before the weekend event

plenty of pups schooling last night Jac and Tony's all going well as was Georges (don't know the names of them all) and John and Fiona's Jack keen as mustard trapping coming on well, Andy's more or less pup had his first run in company with our Tillie (Little Doll) showing him the ropes his first time racing in a muzzle as well nothing phazed him, his owners are quite excited as its looking good for him to be ready to enter his first open at the weekend event all being well. adults having a run up were Georges ARNOLD and FUDGE and our DUFFY, IZZY was chompig at the bit for a run but she's still off for another 2 weeks yet.

Best of luck to the rest of the A/T dogs in Devon for the weekend :luck:

Bobby Dazzler 8.60 / 8.55

Red Moon Rising 8.80 / 8.66

Gud 9.63 first run full distance

Just Paddy 8.42 just back from having a back toe removed and seems to be adjusting well

Bea had a handslip from 1/3 of the way up and went well.

Thankfully we've had a bit more rain on the track as it was getting hard and more forecast :luck: . Council have stopped cutting the field and have spread a fine layer of sand across the track, don't know whether it's a good thing or not but there seems to be a bit more give in the surface now.

As we usually do leading up to BWRA champs, we'll have scratch racing this Wednesday for anyone wanting it, trials beforehand from 7pm.

4 dog races to consist of dogs of similar size / ability. Prizes for winners - all welcome!

A good turnout of dogs for racing & trialing, track looked superb now we've had some rain. All the scratch race winners received wine & chocolates - more scratch races next week for anyone wanting them. A lot of dogs last night, we ran out of light in the end.

Some fast times clocked, quite a few dogs looking impressive and well ready for the champs, Tony's Bobby Dazzler looked to be flying as did Ken's Floless doing her fastest time yet and little Boybelle looked really good after his short layoff.

Andy's Make it Four is coming on very well now giving Violet a good run. Two new peddies at the club both going really well, Coco is a maniac for the lure and should be ready to go in company next week. The two lurchers who are littermates, Enzo & Boodica both had a run up together. Push the button had a trial (which i missed), as did Rapskallion (who looked much more like his normal self) in with Short n Curly, Tall n Tiny had a solo as did Keith's Just Paddy (another good clock) and Hunkie. Ken's pup Jacko (Wor John x Rapid Stag) had a couple of handslips halfway and looked good. Whiskey Fudge (just back from season) had a solo. Tony & Jacqui's two pups Pixel & Teddy both had runs with Riley the ped and passed nicely, litter brother Ginger Gud had a solo and is getting better every week. Our two brothers Miles Away & Maid u Run both had a run up together with Miles just pipping Jarv on the line. Maid Your Point & Maid u Luck both had a solos and our pup Bea had her first run over full distance, very pleased with how she's shaping up.

Thanks to everyone again on traps, lure, setting up/packing away.

All the champs runners were wrapped up in cotton wool this week, we were just schooling youngsters and Terry came with his two peds. Joe had another run with Violet and finished really well, Stan had a solo, a good run nocking a good few yards off his previous time, as did his big brother Judd. Jenny Taylor had a run up, just back from season and went well. Whiskey Fudge had a run with kennelmate Arnold, she's another just back from season. Ken's Jacko went full distance for the first time, he's really deceiving as he's so gangly but must be covering a lot of ground as he clocked a good time and took the distance no bother. Snip & veteran Daisy ran together and both enjoyed it. Miles, Jarvis & Bea all had solos.

All wrapped up and in for a few drinks by 9m

Best of luck to all the Gin Pit dogs at the BWRA Champs :luck:
