Had a great day yesterday at the Sporting Whippet Club NI show at Dunsilly Co Antrim. At one stage the sun was so hot I thought I was on the Costa Brava. As usual, a well organised show, excellent judgeing, and the atmostphere was electric. A very large turnout in Whippets, rising the competition to a very high level of quality on the day. Congratulations to Nicola Erwin on winning best in show with her Whippet Zac. Well done Nicola. Also congratulations to Carol Hill on winning the members class with her beautiful Whippet.

The A class whippet race was won by Michael Quinn with his top of the class Whippet Blue. As I have said before and I am saying again this up and coming young man is a force to be reckoned with. His dad Mickey Quinn is the proudest man in Lurgan to day to have a son like Michael. Well done Michael.

Leanne Rea, is certainly a woman on a mission, winning the B Grade race with her beautiful Whippet Vinnie, a good friend and a true sportswoman. Never lets the female side down. Well done Leanne.

Before I finish, I must congratulate Ann Forsythe and Eamon Feeley on winning the Whippet Puppy race, with taking both 1st and 2nd in the puppy race with their lovely Whippet pups. Ann and Eamon, there will be some competition with these 2 next year in the over 12 month races. Well done, a great result.

There were photographers in abundance there yesterday with Bluebell clicking away as usual, and never misses a class. Bluebell what would we do without you. Janet & Tracy was also snapping as was Vincy Grimley with his camera. I am sure there will be some great photographs up on K9 from all 4 photographers. As Tracy said earlier, Janet will be putting up the full results later, along with some photographs. We also had a little luck with our beautiful Whippet " Silver" coming 2nd in the Whippet bitch class, and getting a beautiful bronze trophy. The trophies were just top class, and you could see a lot of thought went in to choosing them.

Billy Harpur being the gentleman he is, won a lovely bottle of Rose wine, he walked straight over to me and gave me his bottle of wine. What a kind hearted gentleman. Many thanks Billy. I will enjoy drinking it as much as you did winning it.

Thanks Janet and your wonderful committe fo a lovely summers day out. Looking forward to your next show.
