We are going to Devon for the Week (North coast) from tomorrow (11/9/10) anyone in the area know of any really good dog beaches or want to meet up for a whippet yeeehaaaaa! :D :D x

Not sure if you will get this in time. There are loads of wonderful beaches for dogs on the north Devon coast. To name a few: Putsborough, Braunton Burrows, Instow. And then if you go down the coast a bit there are some wonderful ones just north of Bude, into north Cornwall. My favourite is Northcott Mouth. We live in mid Devon, but am planning to be up at Instow beach on Monday lunchtime - maybe see you there? Have a wonderful holiday, would love to hear where you've been and see the photos

Just thought may not have internet access so thought id log on and say we'll be somewhere at a certain time. Sue you beat me to it, that sounds like a good plan well come to instow on monday, get there for about 12, hopefully see you there. Look out for a little blue whippet with white trim and huge bat ears (w00t) And a huge brindle and white whippet carrying a squeeky pink chicken with a girly bark (w00t) (w00t) .

I'll Pm you my mobile number. If anyone else wants to join us thats where we'll be. :D :D cheers Sue x

Wish I could join you, can't think of anything nicer than whippet walking in Devon out of school holidays. Hope you have a lovely time.

Thanks for the good holiday wishes, Here are some pics of our hols 2 weeks ago. The whips loved it and we got to meet Suerose :)) and the lovely Grace  ! sorry its taken me so long to put them up. x

Lovely pics and looked as though the weather was kind to you. Nearly cried for Dotty, :( what a lovely little face and perhaps next time she can have one all to herself. :))

It was great to meet you all, and wasn't it strange, the way we weren't able to meet where we had originally planned but then bumped into one another miles away! Lovely to see your photos, that first one is great  Very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the rest of your time up here. Grace sends her love to Duke and Dottie :huggles:

What gorgeous pics! Looks like your whippies had a fab time at the seaside!

I have to ask, where did you get their lovely collars, the ones with the dragonflies on? The harnesses look good too. Thanks!

Fantastic photos and looked like you had a lovely time in Devon. Both your whippets are gorgeous.

Our two won't eat ice cream from a cone. But they love the little mini milks on a stick! :clown:

Yea you'd better start saving if you want one of those collars  If its for christmas, make sure you get yer order in fast cos I know she's busy this time of year

The cottage (called the barn) was in a little village called cobbaton about 5 miles from Barnstaple the web site address is holidaycottages.co.uk i think they've got quite a few dog friendly places. We'd definitely go again only thing is its not cheap but well worth the money, i thought it would be nice for christmas but its even more expensive then than in the summer so I think we'll just keep saving for next summer. Unless of course I win the lottery? (w00t) :luck: :luck: :luck: x

There is a house in my village in North Cornwall that rents out and is dog friendly. Its great for walking round here and not far from the beaches - price is variable but quite reasonable if you are going off peak and I know that they do last minute negotiations. Its very rural so you need a car. website below.
