Any Suggestions On Which Book To Buy

Hi all

I am looking into buying a book which will help me understand the whippet breed more, I have just started ringcraft classes and someone there mentioned that I should study a little more...........

Can any of you out there recommend one please

OR

Is there a weekly/monthly publication I can subscribe to

The easier question first, there are two weekly publications, Our Dogs and Dog World, they give details of shows coming up, critiques of shows gone, often including photographs, notes on each breed, what's happening in the world of dogs, articles about lots of things, etc etc. You can either order them direct form the publishers or via your newsagent, you can also pick them up in larger newsagents although you don't tend to see this quite so often these days for some reason. Both have websites so have a look.

Your second question is more difficult because we all have our favourite books. My personal favourites are the ones written by Mary Lowe, Phil Moran Healy and Patsy Gilmour, but there are lots of others. Just put a search into Amazon and you can see the range available. There is also a new one by Bo Bengston but I haven't seen it yet and my birthday isn't unitl next month, so maybe someone can advise on that one.

It will also be a good idea to have a look on Amazon on books particulrly relating to showing, if this is what you want to do, again Amazon will help, the one by Robert Killick is quite popular with our ringcraft members.
