I'm absolutely devastated to have to tell you guys that Badger has taken a turn for the worst today and is being put to sleep this evening.
I am on the sofa with him now and that is where we will spend our afternoon together.

This is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do, my beautiful dog has given me so much, he is my first whippet and I have had him longer than any dog I have ever owned..it is really killing me to have to do this.

I have been following yours and Badgers story as my whippet has be diagnosed with a heart condition and have jut been trying to get her meds sorted out.

You did everything you could for him and gave him a life filled with love

No dog could hope for more.

I have been to the place you are now and know how you must feel.

:'( :'( So sorry to read this - what a horribly sad time for you. From what you have written about Badger in the past he sounds so very like Roscoe in his ways. You gave him a great life and every possible chance for as long a life as he could have. I can only imagine how devastated you must feel, but you did the bravest thing for him in the end - you've swapped his pain for yours :'(
