Crikey - When I saw your signature pic I though you'd stolen my dog for minute (w00t) - It's Jess' double

hoping to come along on Saturday. Have got a 10 month old bedlington/whippet and not sure what to do with him. He will chase the lure and come out of a trap with no problem so I'm sure he'll race but he looks a little stocky to be that fast. Don't know the first thing about showing lurchers. What preparations do you need to go to e.g. bathing , stripping, trimming etc.? I have watched whippet/greyhound showing but haven't a clue about lurchers. Can anyone help?

Hi, we'll be helping at the show, the main thing is that both you & your pup enjoy yourselves  Re racing........there's normally straight racing for puppies, usually hand slipped not traps. If you're not too sure whether he'll race there's fun runs after the racing plus we're running dogs in the main arena Sat/Sun afternoons. :))

For showing, he'll be in the rough puppy class 6-12 months (class 4 on schedule, I think) costs £1.00, you pay in the ring.

If you make sure his coat is clean & brushed, the judge will normally check teeth & ears. Also that his nails are trimmed.

If you need any help just ask

is there gonna be pup racing for defo ?

Hi Josh,

Hopefully Chris will confirm this, she's been doing Shugborough show this weekend so she'll be getting her beauty sleep(she needs plenty of it   ,that's me in trouble :sweating: )

Usually start with coursing followed by straight racing for unders, overs, puppies & terriers then fun runs. Also as mentioned we'll be running any breed/type of dog in the main arena on Sat/Sun afternoons

Hello Magdalena!!I dont know what you mean regards beauty sleep ha ha!! It was too cold to sleep at Shugborough & my face had frozen into a smile!! I will have to confiscate your coffee at Shepton as punishment!! prehaps not a good idea as waving coffee fumes under your nose is the only way to keep you awake after you have been on nights!!! Will have to think of something else BEWARE!!

And yes we are deffo running lurcher pups. Lets keep our fingers crossed for good weather & not as cold as Shugborough as the gas froze up & I was in need off a cuppa!!

Maybe safer to stay home if you're withdrawing my privileges, never mind coffee after nights need it to crawl out of bed in the morning
