Introduce Yourself On K9...

Hi,

My name is Rod Smith, got 2 whippets called Cedric and Gregoré.

I have 4 kids to 3 different woman, and i thought i'd join just to get to know you guys.

Nice to meet you.

Hi everyone, I am not a dog owner...yet. Live on a narrowboat with my other half & our 2 cats Poppy & Soona & as I am now retired have the time & inclination to add a dog on board. After some research I think I'd like a whippet - need to be a pup so it would grow up with the cats. Bitch or dog, pros & cons ?

Hi Julia :)

Welcome to K9!

If you post a topic under the General Discussion Whippets section I expect you'll get lots of response as people look at that part more than this board

We like our pictures on here too :) ...... of cats and boats as well as dogs!! Look forward to seeing some if you get a chance to put them up

Hi Jane

Hi I am from Western Australia and have two lovely Whippets.

The are a huge part of our family. I love training them and do obedience, agility and have started Flyball with them. Unfortunately there is no racing or lurecoursing anywhere in Western Australia but I hope to have my own race track and lure soon.

I have been a bit of a lurker so far, but though I should get to poasting an intorduction

Hello, I'm Ann, and I have 3 Italian Greyhound girls. Echo, black, 7 years old, her daughter, Fern, black sable, 3 years old, and Echos grandaughter, Saffy, blue, 10months old. I show Fern and Saffy. I also have 3 Chinese Crested girls. Mischief, hairless 9 years old, Mortisha, hairless, 5 years old, and Annie, a powderpuff, 3 years old. I also rescue and rehome, toy/small, breeds. My first job when I left school, too many years ago to think about, was at Reading Greyhound Stadium kennels, closed long ago, and then a show whippet breeder. Greyhounds and whippets have been my lifelong love. I used to show and race my whippets, and always had rescue greyhounds. I'm retired now but am a qualified vet: nurse, riding instructor, dog trainer, microchipper, pre-school teacher, and still judge at dog shows occasionally. I have 2 rescued corn snakes too, Cornelious, male, 6 ft long, and Cornelia, female. 5ft long.

Hi Ann, welcome to K9 ;) Sounds like you have a busy household :teehee:

Not many people seem to check the FAQ's/ introduce yourself section- it might be worth putting a post in the general dog related or iggies section- photos are a must, too

Thank you. Will do. Have to work out the picture posting bit. Not too good on that bit. My comp: has a mind of its own.

Hi everyone.I'm Lynne and live in Taunton with my two terriers,Duncan a Border Terrier and Trixie supposedly a BT cross but I suspect she may be a stray.I run stalls for Oldies Clubs in and around Somerset which is how I found the forum - googling for shows in Somerset  Look forward to joining in.

I was trying to introduce myself. I am new to this site, however not new to the k9 world. I love dogs and horses a lot. I have owned Boston Terriers, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Belgian Shepherds, Miniture Pinchers and other lovelies that were just Love wrapped up in fur.

:sweating:

Now, that wasn't too hard.

Later...

Hi all, I thought I better introduce myself.

I'm Rachel, the newest member of the scruples team of associates. So I will post on here both as Rachel the dog owner, and Rachel the scruples associate if that's ok?

I live in Dorset with my hubby, 4 children and my wonderful dogs.

I have an 8 year old deaf cavalier king Charles spaniel who I somehow acquired in December. She is a lovely girl and I am currently teaching her my version of doggie sign language.

Then we have Phoebe. A 10 month old (fawn) collie in whippets clothing. She is 3/4 whippet, 1/4 collie. Looks like a whippet, is as gentle and loving as a whippet, has the intelligence level of a whippet, yet needs the exercise and mental stimulation of a collie. She also loves car tyres..... beautiful beautiful girl. Unfortunately has a deformed spine, so is making the most of her insurance policy.

And then we have our most recent addition Daisy. Daisy (named by my 3 yr old) is a beautiful 13 week old lurcher pup. Her dam is greyhound x whippet, and sire was collie x saluki. She is a beautiful brindle colour and has quite a thick coat on her, its certainly not going to be anything like the smooth coat of the greyhound or whippet. Will be interesting to see how the coat develops, whether it is going to feather like the saluki, or be a brindle version of the collie type coat.

My children and my dogs are my life. I spent several years studying animal care, health and behaviour and studied dog behaviour, but I intend to do a bit more in depth dog related study to increase my knowledge.

Sorry for the mini essay!

Hi all, I'm Janet Hares. I live in Ealing, London with my black lab - Ronnie.
