Ok not doggy related but ...

Other than calamine lotion and cool baths anyone got advice on soothing chickenpox our poor bobby is crying in pain with itchy sore blister spots and he is covered from head to toe. We will try anything to help the poor lil lad ...

As you can see its keeping him and me up ... and we need sleep Haha

If you put a couple of handfuls of bicarbonate of soda in those cool bathes they will sooth for a couple of hours. You can buy boxes of bicarb from the chemist. Hope that helps, poor Bobby, get well soon little man

They been advertising a new cream on telly for chicken pox. Carnt remember what it called though its suppost to dry the spots better than camomile. Prob have it in boots if u ask. Hope bobby feeling better soon.

Try a porridge oats bath, put the oats in a old sock n tie it up n chuck it in the bath n run d hot water! Gr8 for eczema and sunburn too.

Try neat lavender oil,it's very soothing & safe

Hope he's better soon!

found Aveeno oil to be good, you put it in the bath, it's a bit like porridge oats, the latter is probably cheaper.

Hope Bobby gets over it soon, can't be nice being itchy in this hot weather, I remember getting no sleep when mine had it ...lying awake all night with her in my bed watching she didn't scratch in her sleep worrying about scars on the face !

Thankyou everyone for the advice bobs is still very itchy and sore, We tried the porridge oats last night and got to say it worked well he had four hours sleep with out waking

Poor boy chickenpoxs this weather lots of mac ds and ice creem will put him right

Apparently antihistamines will work for severe itching with chickenpox. Might be worth asking chemist about some if he's that bad. Get well soon Bobby :flowers:
