Unfortunately this horrible condition is on the increase again. Please read below. You do not have to be a Club member to ask for test kits. It is really important to get details of all dogs no matter who bred them

The IG Rescue is supporting the Animal Heath Trust in carrying out research into inherited epilepsy in Italian Greyhounds and are looking for people to help.

Basically the AHT is working towards developing a test for inherited epilepsy. To do this, they need to build up a DNA database of IGs and this is where anyone with a pedigree IG can help. All you have to do is a very simple cheek swab and send it in with a health questionnaire and the pedigree of your dog. It takes just a few minutes of your time.

You just email Helen Lister to ask for a swab pack, she sends it to you (free of charge) and then you take the swab (basically rubbing the inside of your IG's cheek with a cotton wool thing) and send it to the AHT who handle everything from there and it's totally confidential.
