Australia

Hi everyone,

Well we arrived home safely early morning of Saturday 7.05.11-our youngest son was there to pick us up.

The trip to Australia was amazing in so many ways!! It was great to see our family in Perth – the new additions for the first time. Our hosts in Brisbane (Chris and Dennis) were so kind during our stay and despite their very busy schedules ensured we saw as much as possible in the time available. The dog show was very interesting – quite different from the British scene in the organisation and running of the shows generally. The exhibitors were very sporting and we were impressed with the smooth running of the show and the welcome we were given.

Australia is an amazing country and Australians are justifiably proud of their nationality! But what makes Australia so special are the people – wherever we went we were met with friendship and hospitality.

We were indeed fortunate to visit the Dubai Arabian Stud on our way back to the UK. Again we were made most welcome and will always treasure the memory of seeing their wonderful horses.

We have been invited to return by so many of our new friends whom we feel privileged to have met and are also looking forward to seeing our friends at home again to share with them some of our experiences. It is good to be back home to see our own family but the memories of Australia and Dubai will be with us for ever!

How lucky you both were to have had this wonderful opportunity. I'm so envious of your visit to the Dubai Arabian Stud & can't wait to see your photos of those beautiful horses! :thumbsup:

I have a sister in Oz but have never been over to visit. It would be great to visit them and combine it with a show. Alas finances will not stretch that far.

Glad you both got home OK and the last leg of your trip was everything that you hoped it would be. We enjoyed having you with us for the short time and I know that Dennis and Chris enjoyed the opportunity to show you around Brisbane a little. They are wonderful to do this for us. Wish I'd had the chance to chat a bit more at the dinner, but thats the joy of being stuck at the wrong end of the table Thanks so much for your kind words about our show and the people that you met during your stay. Looking forward to reading your Critique on our dogs. The girl that won BIS was Molly Head's Rs CC last year, was Editha Newton's CC here at a show in Brisbane last year, and was the Res CC under Diana Hansen (Sth Africa) at the Victorian specialty last year. Not bad for consistency!!
