Please take a look on the Scruples forum for Paddy and Jo updates. They are lovely old boys, very gentle and looking for a warm sofa to curl up on. They have really come out of their shells in the last couple of weeks - it was lovely to watch them playing together on the common for the first time last week.

Paddy has a mad whippy 5 minutes every now and then - they roll about all over each other and then look very embarrassed afterwards! Since they've been with us they've had to learn a lot - being around other dogs, cats, chickens and horses. Meeting new people. Learning to sit, lie down not shove through doors and that human food isn't whippet food! All of these seemed a lot to teach such old boys, but they've been remarkably eager to please. All their little kinks (Jo marked when he first came, they were depressed and wouldn't eat, and used to howl if left alone) have been ironed out in a really short time, just with a bit of love, gentleness and patience.

They've incredibly affectionate -they loved cuddles from the start, but it was a bit like 'source of warmth, hold me' cuddles. Now they really look at us, with sweet smiley faces, Paddy mumbles sweet nothings and they do a lot of hand-kissing. They're lovely. We'll miss them something rotten, but we know how much they need to be settled in their forever home - they're going to find it a bit tough as it is, because they've got very settled here, but our little terrace is too small for 5 on a permanent basis.

The only remaining problem we have is Paddy's anxiety around other dogs when out walking. He's made huge progress, though. He will sit for treats as long as the other dogs are not too close, and the distance is getting closer daily. He now ignores them if they're on the other side of the road, and we're sure this is something he'll eventually be ok with, as soon as he feels secure.

Please, if you know anyone who is whippy experienced and can offer them a loving home, ask them to consider Paddy and Jo.

I just love these two

If I could I would :(

Doing what I can to find them something special up here in Scotland but nothing so far :luck: :luck:

Thanks, Eve, we love them too! We even had the 'shall we keep them' discussion at the weekend, but we're more use to Scruples if we can foster others. Good new is that we've just heard last night from Rachel at Scruples that we might have a home for them. Lovely single lady in rural cottage in Somerset - which will suit them perfectly. She can take them to work and has had lots of dogs in the past. Paws and fingers crossed! Your whippies are beautiful, btw. x :luck:

Thanks to everyone who looked up Paddy and Jo - pleased to say they now have a lovely new mum in Somerset. They will be spoilt rotten in a cottage on a farm with lots of garden to mooch about in. To say nothing of sleeping on sofas and in mum's bed ... home-from-foster-home, really!! They're really lucky boys.

I am so pleased to hear that Paddy and Jo have found their forever sofa at last :)) Sounds like they've really landed on their little paws with their new Mum!

Good luck lovely boys :luck:

And well done to you Fern for being such a great Foster Mum - it must be hard to see them go, but you've done them proud

Terry xx

So delighted to hear the news about Paddy and Jo.

Sounds like an idyllic retirement for them.

What a wonderful lady offering these two boys a forever sofa in their golden years.

She's wonderful. We're taking the boys to her next Sat and i'll fill you all in on how they get on. It's going to be a bit of a mixed day - smiles and tears probably too! Thanks for your kind words, Terry. Our first foster boys, and they've made it so easy for us. We've caught the fostering bug now!! :) Fern x

brilliant news, well done to all concerned

I am so happy that these two special boys have found a home together and it sounds such a perfect home for them :huggles:

Brilliant news for Paddy and Jo.  Good luck in their new home. :luck: :luck:
