The committee at Nott's & Derby WRC have been putting together some idea's for a camping week end at the track for next year and would take onboard any input from racers (good or bad!) l have negotiated an affordable price with the council for week end events, Thurs to Mon. This year they have given us keys for the water, shower and toilet block which we use club nights. Paul and his staff at Poolsbrook Welfare have always bent over backwards to help us and have said we can use the side room to the welfare which also has toilets and kitchen facilities. We are welcome to use the welfare for evening entertainment. The only problem l can see is where to sqeeze a week end in, as looking at this years calendar there is only a couple of possibilities! We would be interested to get some feed back, is it a good idea? do racer's think there's to many on already? let us know please. Lynda.

I think it is a brilliant idea Les

i think its a brill idea and its a lovely track and camping on the track is so much bettere than off everyones together hope you find a sutibel weekend good luck

well i think its a great idea that notts and derby want to put a weekend avent on at this class venue but like u say les there are loads of opens weekend avents already out there maybe it could work if they was juggeled right and you used 2 opens that are already in use as a weekend. AS LONG AS YOU HAVE CONSULATION LOL me and tam insist lol

all the best les

andy

Love to come up for a long weekend next year

 I love weekend events but, only if they are seperate opens run on seperate days, for the simple reason that, if like me you've had to give up your caravan, you can't stop the weekend. Let's face it, anyone who knows me will understand that a tent is out of the question, unless I fancy a week in traction. Give folk the choice and they will attend, but in an event where you have to qualify one day to run on the next day, you're preventing people running who have to work Saturdays etc., A wekend event, if run properly can give folk what they want and be a good earner for the club concerned, and, if we can do anyhting to help clubs survive, surely, that's got be a good thing. So, in conclusion, go for it Les and more pwer to your elbow!

i also think 2 seperate events is a better idea as people may b able to make it only 1 day but then if people can make it both days then thats a bonus and they can camp. it is also a good idea to make the weekend event two opens that u have already got that way u wudnt b staging a weekend event when anther club/region has an event on. in may u have east ayrshire (north) and one in the south weekend event. then theres the nnwrf champs weekend event. june devon, july a & t miners weekend, fordinbridge weekend and scotland week, aug bwra straight champs wot about having your event in sept????
