Hello everyone.

From a previous thread you perhaps recall the happy occasion when Sheba and Bracken went to their new foster home and some of you will have shared in the pleasure that I felt as it finally happened.

Today I got an email from the lady foster carer and some of it I now read to you:

It is with a heavy heart that I mail you to let you know that Sheba did not have a good weekend. As you know she went to the vet 2 weeks ago, lame on her front right leg. She was given 2 weeks of high dose anti inflam' but did not improve. She had also lost a kilo in weight. This weekend she was on 3 legs and hardly moving and I could see that she was in pain. I could not wait to get her to the vet this morning.

The vet dropped the bombshell that he suspected bone cancer and wanted to do an x ray right away. He rang to confirm the cancer this afternoon and strongly advised Oldies Club to let her go whilst under sedation as it was an aggressive type of cancer that had already disolved some of her shoulder joint. No medication would have touched the pain for her. So, at 2 o clock they let her go peacefully to sleep. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I'm so sad that such a lovely girl should be taken away and just hope that Bracken will not be too badly affected.

Just wanted to share this with you.

Rest in peace lovely girl

Sorry to hear that, but it sounds like it was the right thing to do, and will have saved the old girl from a lot of pain.

Poor Sheba, such a shame. I haven't followed their story on here but i gather she had a lovely time with you if that picture is anything to go by. RIP little girl xx

That is so sad. She's out of pain now so can run free forever. :huggles:

Thanks so much for your comments. Sheba was such a lovely dog. In common with many lurchers, she was a clever girl and would talk to you in her way, to tell you what she wanted. It is such a shame that I tried so hard and waited such a long time to re home them as a pair and then for this to happen. It just doesn't seem fair does it? Anyway, Bracken, her sister, now becomes the priority. Those girls lived with each other day in day out for the life of Sheba and it must be dreadful for Bracken. I am content with the foster carers who are marvellous and would hope that they would hang on to Bracken. Again. Thanks for your comments they mean such a lot to me and I will let you kow how things go with the lovely Bracken.

Aw how very sad RIP Sheba

GO CHASE THE BUNNIES GIRL

LOTS OF LOVE THE BLUE GANG
