Just heard Showman is on route to vets following a serious injury at Ayr.

Hoping Arty's going to pull through, it'd be a crying shame for a veteran dog to end his career in such circumstances.

Thinking of Arty, got everything crossed for you. :luck: :luck: :luck:

Just heard Arty is on his way back from the vets. As far as I know he has been sedated I think he has pain killers and has to be kept in his cage for 24hrs. He has to be xrayed by his own vet when he returns home. Joyce I hope your boy is going to be ok, sorry I wasn't there to help you. Hope it's not as bad as was thought. Hope your boy makes a speedy recovery.

Firstly can i thank from the bottom of heart Rita,Steve<Mark who took Arty to the vets and Grace for showing them the way to her vet. Some good news and bad. the good news is i got Arty back as we all thougjht he had broken his back and i woudnt get him back Arty has been my soul mate and my imsperation to carry on this last seven years. the bad news is Arty will never run again. hes got Spine damage andhis right back hip is swollen and very sore, But the Game old bugger insits to try and walk for him to have a pea although hes nearly falling over. it will be a long journey before he gets back to the dog i love and admire but i got him home and that to me was like winning the lottery. Thank you everyone for your kind wishes to me and arty. Stevey Duncan came last night as you know stevey has looked after my dogs for 10 years. he gave him a good look over and is coming again next week to see him Stevey is my rock where my dogs are consirned thanks everyone again especialy my grand son Conner who never left my side after Arty was hurt on saturday. THANKS EVERYONE

Regards

Joyce

So very very pleased you have Arty home with you Joyce. I felt especially for you after the same sort of thing happened to me and Sam (BallyBoy)

at the championships a couple of years ago. How did Arty fall? We never knew what made Sam go down and again everyone thought he had broken his back.

He was fit like Arty before racing and only 6 years old then. I am sure now a little time has passed that Arty will be able to walk and get around again.

It took Sam a few days and his hip and spine were injured then he could totter again.

Good news he can run about the house now, limps a bit going up steps and although he cannot free run any more he jumps on the furniture as before and is a happy little dog. I am sure your Arty will be a cheerful and happy little dog again and he has so much guts.
