So Mel has just troffed half a tin of beans as well as the usual tuna, pasta, dried and tinned food.

Apart from the obvious dangers (stretching greyhound, chest on the carpet, bum in the air!) - any reason why she should not have a bean supplement now and again?

i cant see a problem in moderation, mine have never had the shits, if its a rescue greyhound then most of the time the tummy is ruined, if my dogs enjoy somthink then they get a wee bit mixed in, mine love sardines in tommy sauce but only once a week, pasta i do find can give them the shits if too much is given.

Sardines last about 1 second here! Really helps their coats and skin - no dandruff now. I've been giving them brown bread toast - that gets troffed and definitely stops the $hits o:)

They like pasta, but only get it once a week or so. Brown pasta is probably better, but expensive.

We've had these from pups and a retired one before - but the poop situation is just the same. They need their roughage and meals at set times to stop it. I'll keep slipping the beans in now and then (w00t)

Baked beans in tomato sauce rather that green beans or runner beans?

Baked beans ok to feed, its actually a pretty good remedy for cramp. a great dog in oz in the late 80's was a true superstar winning over 30, he had a meat allergy and was famously fed on baked beans. He went to stud and produced the adelaide cup winner White Tyson, unconfirmed but heard he suffered same problem.

My whippet's eat any thing you put down and i mean anything bake bean's tin tom's  , a part from Sox but he does like bake bean's with his dinner
