We also had a great time thank you, the weather held until Friday night, so we all still enjoyed some sunshine and sitting chatting outside the caravans. It was glorious on our visit to Wendy on Friday sitting by the seaside (again waiting for our fish and chips...we were good though with no ice cream this time)....on our return to the New Forest the rain started and it didn't let...but we all still had a great night in the club.

Special thanks to Doreen and Bill, also to Bert for all their hard work, it was very much appreciated...you never stopped, you are a credit to the sport, and as we all know not many don't want to do anything but race their dogs, and leave the hard work to the very few, who do things to enable us to run our dogs! Looking forward to our visit next year for the Derby etc.....the sunshine has been booked early, so we don't miss out (we will probably be complaining about it being too hot) xx

The track superb and the hospitality second to none in beautiful surroundings. I can safely announce that this will be the home of the 2013 Derby...thanks to Doreen & Bert for organising things with the council, a week which will also inc the BWRA IBM & Fed Golden Jacket, bringing all organisations together for a week of top class racing.

For those who wish to book their time off work, camping from Wed June 19th until Tues July 2nd. Derby date is 22nd & 23rd June, NNWRF 28th & BWRA IBM 29th June, with Fordingbridge mid-week open June 26th. We look forward to seeing you all next year!

yeah it must have been missed out in my whippet news or i havent read it properly yet lol thanks for letting us know.

i am still beaming from sundays racing. my bitch Hopalong Cassidy (Shelley) won her first bitch open. Bearing in mind this little dog broke all her metacarpal bones at 9 weeks old and was told she might not be able to walk let alone run! a lot of hard work went into this little dog to get her right. i remember when she came out of plaster her leg was like a pipe cleaner and i was not sure it was ever going to get right. First walks was to the postbox and then to the postbox and back after a few weeks- till finally after 4 months we were walking up to 3 miles. little Shelley remained happy through out bless her. My heart was in my mouth when we first let her off the lead but the leg held thankgoodness. She missed all of the puppy racing and yearlings as we were still testing the leg out. Once she started chasing rabbits and game back sound we knew we may have a chance of racing her. Bill Hopkins helped me school her and she came off sound after her trails. It was taken time for her to win as she went straight into the adults but this year she had been knocking on the door to win finally ahcieving this on sunday. To those of you that have had dogs with broken legs will know the hard work that is involved it just needs one win to know it was worth it!!! shelley is back!

Hi Ray, what odds do you think the bookmakers would give on the weather next year ( oh my )

Hi Lisa, I can understand why you are so pleased, I have to say that I didn't realise it was her first open that she has won. She always seems to give you such fantastic races that it never even registered that she hadn't gone on to win overall bitch at other opens. I now have lots to write about when I do the Mid-West report. If you want to send me any more info on your other bitches I can include that in my next report that I will be doing in the next few days. Just a reminder to Amanda ( Worcester ) some updates please!!!!!!!!!!.

regards

Doreen

Lisa she is a highly talented little bitch, the races I saw her run in she was always very close and gave a very good account of herself, she will pick up many more opens and titles (my prediction, so watch out for her, considering what she has been through which hasn't held her back, and if I am correct she is homebred by Lisa to Tam & Shelly's recently lost old boy Streisand.

Well done Lisa

Shelley and yourelf so deserve a final win, here's hoping for many more.

It has been missed off Carole, I added a photograph at the 11th hour, which took more space than I anticipated and in doing so losing the bottom paragraph..

Several enquiries have already been made for the 2013 Derby and Fordingbridge events.

Can all racers who are wanting to send Doreen deposits please wait until February next year, no money required until then!

You can provisionally book with Doreen....But all bookings must be confirmed when asked to do so next February.

A huge thankyou to all at Fordingbridge from Scruples Whippet Rescue for raising the fantastic sum of £180 for us at your charity open. Wonderful yet again to see some great racing, meet up with some old faces and generally enjoy the warm welcome that all at Fordy so willingly give. You had an awful week of weather yet carried on regardless and we are truly grateful for your kind efforts and valuable donation.

Hi Sharon

on behalf of Fordingbridge Wrc you are very welcome, where would whippet owners be if your society wasn't around to help in times of need. Hope to see you again sometime

kind regards to you all

Doreen

Sharon, Just seen your posting on the Scruples Facebook page. Some lovely comments about Fordingbridge Wrc and it's members, as I have said on my previous posting you deserve all the support that you can get.

best wishes

Doreen
