OLD HALL W.R.C. 23/9/12 SUP.RCH LITTLE BILL & GEORGE SPARKS MEMORIAL OPEN. A.B.C. FORMAT.

This open is being run for the second year in the memory of one special man and his extraordinary dog.

George was involved in Whippet racing for many years and was a familiar face at Old Hall. He could be seen at Old Hall, most weekends, even if he wasn't racing, as he didn't like to miss out on the racing. George had his share of dogs', but, Billy was his most outstanding dog, for his achievements.

Little Bill was only five when his battle with life all became too much. Billy acieved many accolades during his racing career, including his Rch title for three consecutive years and finally gaining his Nch title at his last attempt. His most impressive achievement, by far, was being crowned B.W.R.A. Supreme Racing Champion for three consecutive years! Something not accomplished for thirty years.

We hope everyone enjoyed the racing, today, in the memory of George and Billy and let's hope he would of been proud!

IT WAS A BRILLIANT DAY OF RACING AND ONCE AGAIN THE CAMERA CAME INTO USE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS TO SORT OUT DEFINITIVE RESULTS. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE WORKERS FOR THEIR UNTIRING EFFORTS, DESPITE THE RAIN DURING THE SECOND HALF! ALSO THANKYOU TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE RAFFLE ETC., ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO DONATED MONEY, WHICH WAS ADDED TO THE A FINALISTS PAYOUT!GEORGE WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY PROUD! A great day in memory of great man without whom i wouldnt have even know what whippet racing was, and the legendary billy. Some cracking races and some very exciting youngsters none more so than george north b4 south, what a prospect he is in the coming months. Well done all the winners, workers and everyone else that made the day special, lastly a massive well done to steve and glynis and hey girl and elaine with just jen winning supremes couldnt wish for nicer people to take the trophys home :thumbsup:

Massive thank you to George’s family for their generous sponsorship of today’s meeting the trophies, coats, payout and bottles of wine, were very much appreciated. I was thrilled with the prizes my girls brought home. Also thank you to the lureman, trapman, luregirl and all the committee who worked so hard today.

well done all the winners reads like it was a good days racing.a special well done to george ( north b4 south ) he must of run well to have beaten some very good dogs on show.wish we could have been there to see him run,your dad would have been very proud of him.

Huge well done to Old Hall WRC and The Spark family. Today was a great day's racing and I'm sure George was very proud of you all.

Some very tight races and some impressive youngsters running very well. Little Slimfast, The Devil Is Blue and North B4 South are going to be ones to watch next year.
