A lovely day for one of our added Sunday meetings. We are trying to catch up on meetings we had to cancel when the track was flooded earlier in the year. Graham's pup "Nelly" got her pass last Wed and joined the handicap, she looks promising and i'm sure he's going to have a lot of fun with her. Brian's fawn bitch (litter sister to Come on Izzy) is trialling well in company and will probably be the next new comer on the card, looking forward to see how she progresses. Next Wed 12th is our last evening meeting weigh-in till 6.15. We shall be racing Sundays through Sept weigh-in till 12 noon. Racing today was 150yds heats 2ft/lbs. finals 1/2yds/lbs.

We started trialling about 5 o'clock tonight as there were plenty to get through. We all had to run for cover half way through as it absolutely lashed it down but thankfully it stopped before racing started. Well done to Brian's Flymo winning his first final tonight and Dean's Bolero who always puts a good run in for a h/w dog against bitches. Joyce & Connor's Calamity Kate once again winning the A final. Nat, Andrew & Geoff's Cute as Hell fell out in the scr race but managed to get up to beat Gordon's Sweet Chalice by about a length. Well done everyone.

A perfect day for racing today. Lovely weather for us and the dogs, some good racing with a great bunch of people and refreshments for anyone feeling peckish what more could you want! Quiet a few trialling before racing, Brian's youngster Come on Cassie had her schooling pass signed today shes doing everything right. Andy gave Twisted Tip a couple of solo's and Rick & Michael had a handslip and a full distance with 2 of theirs, several others having handslips. Today's racing was over 160 2ft/lbs. The feed & seed we put on the trap area after the champs has come through well so we were able to bring the traps back to the scratch line.

Well done everyone, some brilliant close races. We have been undecided about buying a photo finish camera for next year, l think today we've decided it well make life a lot easier!

Well done everyone was a really enjoyable afternoon especially as I had a dog to run!! Will hopefully see you all next week :) x

What a brilliant turn out of 35 dogs on a chilly but dry day. A few pups having runs again today, getting a feel for the track before the BWRA puppy champs next week, good luck to them all. Team Slater's 2 girls are running out of their skin at the moment, both winning their semi's and Charisma just out trapping Calamity Kate to win a very good A final. Keith's Clear Way seems to have took a liking to the track, pinging the lids and winning both scr races, well done.

After racing we held our AGM in the Welfare. The refreshments went down a treat, Les will have to learn to trap faster, by the time he got there most of them had gone, thats two years on trot he's failed!. Thanks to everyone for staying after racing it was well2012_09300015.jpg2012_09300011.jpg2012_09300008.jpg attended. Only one propsal to be voted on and that was for racing, handicap and distance to be drawn out of the hat each week, this was passed. Even though the tracks been under water several times this year we have managed to keep our heads above it and have still got a healthy bank balance some of which will be spent on a photo finish camera for next year. The top club dog competitions have been filalized today. The top club dog for the 2nd year is Gill's Mon Ami with 24 points, 1 point behind in 2nd place is Paul's Hells Amber on 23 and Brian's Point Taken in 3rd with 21. The Whippet News top club dog also goes to Mon Ami, again for the 2nd year running with 19 appearances. 2nd Point Taken on 17 and 3rd Hells Amber on 14. Top club scratch dog goes to Jim, John and Sky's Sky's Lad, until today was unbeaten at the club, on 36 points, 2nd Geoff, Andrew and Natalie's Cute as Hell on 17 and joint 3rd Who Knows & Just Peak on 9. The Whippet News top Scratch dog goes to Cute as Hell on 14 appearances with Skys Lad in 2nd place with13 and joint 3rd Deneside Colin & Just Peak on 5.All winners received an engraved trophy and a bag of Gain, well done. Unlike last year when Tod was our very popular trainer dog, this year we have several, including Toby the jack russell, so we dont really have a particular trainer this year. This is our last club meeting this year, although we might run a few "open to anyone" meetings in October if the weather is ok, will post on k9. Thank you all for your support, hope to see you next season. Good luck to everyone running at the Jack Cadman, Puppy / Yearling champs next week

Well done everyone, enjoyed our visits last couple of weeks

Well done everyone, had a nice day yesterday was thrilled with how my big girl ran for me :D
