The Derby last year was the lowest attendance ever, the fact this CLASSIC is yet again not being held in the middle of the country accessible to everyone and with the added cost to the camping, what are you planning to do to boost entries?

I would like to know why there is such an excessive increase in camping charges, for the previous years it has been £50 this year £85

in the present financial climate in my opinion it is too much on top of ever increasing fuel costs,

not having gone to the 2 events last year .. but i'm sure it was the same to camp last year at the derby weekend £50, and the fordy weekend was £35 so its the same amount next year,

just wondering as the nnwrf have now cancelled there camping are you not putting your gold jacket on at fordy now ??

no it was'nt the same last year the derby moved over from Devon with whatever else ran the following weekend the NNWRF and Fordingbridge weekend was seperate from that we did suggest we move back a week and the derby move forward a week but it didn't happen thats history now anyhow this year we agreed to move back and link it with the Deby and BWRA ( which I think is yet to be comfirmed ) what we didn't expect was the £85 camping charges its not affordable for a lot of racers in answer to your question about the g/j open thats for the committee to decide if any of them are going down none of us have extra deep pockets

i do understand that the derby moved from Devon my point is the derby as always been a separate event no matter what is as linked up with, and as i understand sorted its own camping fee's with the council which as always been the case when they have had on site camping, i also understand that fordy like you say agreed to link up so people could make a hol's and stay for the 12 days but will still have to pay for there 7 days camping at £35 as it states in the post by Doreen when she started the topic,

Iknow the the camping fees were set by the derby my point is that fee has normally covered the camping for the for the whole 10/12 days stay wherever it was held and it was never £85

I am in no way blaming Doreen she has obviously just missed it off but when the post first went on it never said anything about £50 for the derby weekend plus £35 for the NNWRF/FORDY weekend this has been added later in red print

The camping fees as a whole are of no consequence to the NNWRF they don't get nor do the expect anything from it but as an individual whippet racer which is how I commented I am not prepared to pay £85 thats my choice I think it is way too much

this year people who went to both events weekends at fordy paid £85 so next year they will pay the same

this years fee's

English Derby camping June 7th to 11th Racing June 9th & 10th

Fordy Open June 12th

June Steele Open July 14th

IBM July 16th

5 DAYS CAMPING £50

3 wks later NNWRF/Fordy Open camping July 3rd - 10th

July 4th SCruples Charity Open

July 7th NNWRF

July 8th Fordy Unix Open

CAMPING 7 DAYS £ 35

making £85 yes its upto members if they want to go to derby or fordy or both events if they can afford it, i would think if your committee did the same as last year and just went for fordy weekend you will all only be paying £35 same as last year

ok linda, if the nnwrf put there champs weekend on at shirebrook and they made it a 12 day camping weekend with the shirebrook leger would you want your camping fee's and shirebrook have there camping fee's or would you just pay £50 for both events ??? i think both would need and want there own camping fee's

think you will find that fordingbridge council only charge £5.00 all inc not per night just £5.00 per stay thats why they can give moneys to PED charitys BET YOUR LIFE YOU WILL NOT SEE A BALANCE SHEET OR ASTATEMENT OF ASSETS FACT so now who being rip off

oooooh quite right Fiona, I think the statement above your posting could lead to some advice from a solicitor, and as a lot of people know one of our familys good friends is a partner in a law firm. Watch this space

Doreen

Non of your business considering you were banned for life from Fordingbridge Wrc by the members, does that not tell you something..

You must be having sleepless nights not knowing the clubs business and finances.

not sure who your asking that chris paul and the derby ??? or fordy ?? if fordy then i'm sure all the members will be shown a balance sheet at there next agm, as you know from being chairman of the bwra when Doreen was registrar for a number of years the books were always upto date as i'm sure they are at club,
