Hi, has anyone experience of Dog Rocks ? you sit them in dogs drinking water and they're supposed to reduce levels of tin in dogs urine so you don't get burns on your grass, packet says no harmful effects but if dog has reaction stop use ! anyone used these ?

thanks

i used them, im pretty sure they helped, but as my grass was pretty burnt before i started using them it would have taken a long time to see real results, and we have now slabbed the area so dont need them,

im sure i remember it saying that you had to use them for 4weeks before they started to work so get them now! dogs never had any affects from them and still happily drank the water :)

I've just trained Brude to use a shower tray installed in the garden :)

Some people make sweeping statements without personal experience *shrugs*

Was this the only water your dogs were drinking, and did you stick it out for the prescribed four weeks too?

I've not tried them, but it's the first time I've seen them given a bad review, so am curious

I used them for a while. Had them in both bowls. I do think they worked we just sucked at replacing them on time

Yes, they do seem to work, but only for about 4 weeks, Since Lily has been on Natures Menu food she doesn't need them o:)

i dont make "sweeping statements" Strix, i tried them as per the instructions i have 4 bitches and 2 dogs and they made zero impact so i stopped

I've used them and they do work - but not on a small garden.

They worked so well in our last house, the bits that the dog wee'd on were actually greener than the lawn itself...

However, we have a much smaller lawn area now and they aren't working - we also use greenums and tomatoes and nothing works!

I'm sure they would work to some extent or another, if Molly would drink the water that was in the bowl with them. Ho hum, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised with this, as she's the sort of dog that doesn't like changes to what she thinks of as the rules in life.

haha - I know what you mean - Blaize and Ripples will drink from anything rather than the dog rock bowl - puddles and any pot in the garden!

Joking apart though - one of my cats went into Kidney failure shortly after we got the dog rocks - Im convinced its because she hated the water bowl (which they all shared) - they now have a fountain and a water bowl of their own...

We manage the kidney failure now but she has the odd blip!
