I'm going to have to mull it over a bit, but we're watching 'the fox and the hound' which H got for Christmas. I've never seen it before!

So what are your favourite dog films and why?

I love Turner and Hooch

I also like K9!

I know this is childish but I love the Beethoven films!

Ive heard about this film - i have to get a copy!

A very old one - The Incredible Journey - the original version. I believe Disney remade it in 2006 but I haven't seen that version.

old yellow thats gotta be up there aint it, this will make you all laugh but i was once on tiswas as a 12yr old because i wantd to see a clip from old yellow :> :> :>

Have you got footage of it?

Absolutely the best - first one that came to mind when I saw the question

The Disney remake was Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey and was 1993 (now don't you feel old LOL). I'm usually skeptical about remakes but I enjoyed it. Wasn't so keen on the sequel.

Old Yeller is one of the saddest movies ever!! But I loved it. Have it on DVD. May have to go watch it again.

Among some other favourites are 'Cats & Dogs'. The original, not the sequel. It just makes me laugh.

I'm sure there's plenty more, but can't think of them off the top of my head.

I love watching live 101 Dalmatians with the whippets because they actually watch it too! It's so cute to see their little heads and eyes following the action.

Not a film but I used to love the Littlest Hobo which was on when I was young .

I love "UP"- not just a dog film, although dogs feature strongly in it... the dog characters are brilliant, and in our house vet collars are now always known as "the cone of shame"

I saw the trailer for Up, but we were staying with family who didn't seem keen to watch it. Might see if it's anywhere on catch up

Haven't had the opportunity to watch UP yet. Will have to add it to the wishlist.

LOL about the 'cone of shame'. We've called it that for years.

I just checked and UP is showing on BBC Three on Thurs 10th, and Sun 13th at 8pm if that's any help to you :)

Oh thank you! Had a look at catch up on freeview tonight and it wasn't there
