Any Open Dates Decided?

Any open dates yet?

Ive seen those on Nationals and wcra websites but has any clubs decided on dates yet.

Working some weekends I need to plan time of for my favourite opens.
 
Honeyhills straight open has been booked for Sunday 19th May :thumbsup: Distances and weight groups yet to be decided.
 
Is honeyhills affiliated to the WCRA? If not, then I guess it won't be possible to run for superstars points. I'm sure Gary Comber said recently that in order for a club to run for superstars points, that all dogs entered for the open had to have a WCRA passport.

Yes, that's right. You do have to be affiliated. But like I said, we haven't had our first meeting yet, so it's something that Honeyhills will have to have a vote on.
 
if anyone with a nationals only passport enters an open that is running for superstars points are they refused entry or are they allowed to run but because of that one dog nobody gets any superstar points
 
look forward to what honeyhills votes on. out of ten clubs Affiliated last year why did only five run for superstars point,

why didn't the other clubs just save there money???i'm a member at the independent club with a wcra passport so when it comes

to there open this year i feel that im just running for top ten were someone with a national passport get the best of both worlds

why would you want to go to a wcra open with a national passport ?
 
That answers my question you can only enter with a wrca passport so that does not affect me as you all know I have both

But this is a problem with the WCRA and the fact that they have rules which tell clubs what to do. If the WCRA were to adapt their rules so that clubs could run for Superstars points and also allow NPWRA passported dogs to race there wouldn't be an issue. The clubs could decide on who they want to race at their opens rather than the WCRA restricting their entries for them. In fact lets not forget a club running for Superstars has NO right to refuse entry to a WCRA passported dog. It's a shame for those racers who wish to run for Superstars points that the WCRA place such restrictions on the clubs. Why can't WCRA passported dogs get Superstars points regardless of what other dogs are running at that open. Why be such dictators!

Because it's the CLUBS open NOT the WCRA's Chris. If the WCRA was to run the open themselves then it would be there's. Why should clubs be told what to do like this? It's just so old hat. Club committee's and their members are perfectly capable of making decisions regarding who they wish to allow to race at their opens. I would think that in this day and age most clubs would want as many people as possible to race at the opens.

It's a shame that the WCRA stick to such unreasonable and unfair rules when all they have to do is adapt the rules and the problem goes away.

Whatever the Honeyhills members decide good luck with your open.

thanks Barbara for understanding,but how would you work out the points,if to say you had a four dog race three of the dogs were running for national points and the other one were running for superstars points.the three dogs running for nationals pts came 1st 2nd and 3rd thats easy.

shropshire lass lets say came fourth racing for superstars pts.in my eyes she came 1st becouse no other wcra dog as come passed her so she should have a heat win and a place in the semi final would this ever work? but i know where ya coming from its the club open and there no better open than the indi.looking forward to seeing ya two pups...

i see how did this come about and were? lets say four dog race two running for national points two running for superstars points they will all go into the sem's finals would i

be right in saying that..i'm enjoying the banter beats laying pipes on site in this snow. (w00t)

Andover dates are 2nd June and 15th September. Weight groups same as second open last year (14-19, 20-22, 23-25, 26-28, 29-32) with an extra group in the maidens (as far as I can remember - waiting for the minutes to come through so I can add details to the website). Now running 29-32lb group for both opens.

Im looking forward to the new season and would welcome any other dates, hoping some of the other clubs are also going to look at making the heavyweight group smaller (I know I am biased as have a 31lb dog) as a few clubs ran 27-32 last year, the groups were massive and it doesnt really encourage the bigger dogs to enter. Hope to be able to attend the Inde as always enjoy opens there and Honeyhills (dependent on groups). As someone who only holds National passports I am hoping clubs will offer dual entry as otherwise we wont be able to attend :(

thats how i feel holding a wcra passports,out of the 10 affiliated clubs i feel i can only attend 5 of them,good point about the heavyweight group.

Main groups 14-19, 20-23, 24-27, and 28-32 over 200 yards

Vets groups 14-19, 20-25, and 26-32 over 150 yards
 
WHEAL LOVELL WRC in Cornwall will be holding our Open on May 26, which is the second Bank holiday( used to be Whitsun)

There will be camping available around that date and there is a toilet block and water on site.

The Open will be run for WCRA Superstar points, so you will need Wcra passport to enter
