Hello

wondering if anyone has any tips

I live in an apartment with 2 Beagles Wendy the oldest if fully toilet trained she goes in our bathroom no problems at all but with her puppy Bella (4 months) she doesn't do this I put puppy pads down take her to the bathroom when we first wake up and she goes in the bathroom then because she`s just woken up so I give her lots off praise after she goes, but throughout the day I take her to the bathroom ( after she eats or plays) and she just stands there looking at me iv tryed saying "go potty" and nothing happens then later on she`s go not inside the bathroom I`ll tell her "no" and pick her up and take her to the bathroom where again she will just stand there and look at me

Any help I would love here  P2270249.JPG

Hi there :)

When you say she goes in the bathroom - how do you mean? Do neither go outside to go to the toilet?

no not unless they need to while on a walk nearly 90% off the time they use our bathroom

what about a baby gate or some kind of board across the door, so you can pop her in there, however long it is after she's eaten or whatever, and then leave her there untill she's done it?

Good luck, i think i saw a thing where somone had taught their cat to actually go in the toilet bowl once!

problem with that is that she will just howl for us if she knows we r in the house

My eldest beagle will NOT go to the toilet in my garden ever, he never has in 8 years its his way of making me walk him, even last thing at night I have to take him a quick walk to get him to pee before bed. Maybe your pup just wants to go outside?

ooops, i meant leave her there, while waiting for her to go for a pee, so you can still go 'yay, you wee'd!!', without having to rugby tackle her if she wants to go back to the rest of the house to wee, good luck, got to love howlers!

Welcome to Dog Forum - your doggies are completely adorable!!!!

It may well be that she won't go because she can smell her mothers scent, dogs won't always go where another has been and seeing as she is only a pup it's confusing enough for her to know where is the right place to go without the only choice being somewhere that she can't create her own scent patch.

In an ideal world you really should be taking them outside to toilet, the pup hasn't learned the difference between in the bathroom and just any old place she likes because to her indoors is fine.

Beagles are lovely though.
