I know it is a complicated subject but if fern was from a litter of 6 blues with both her parents being blue and she was mated to a silver brindle parti colour who throws lots of different colours,is the blue in fern going to dominate her puppies colours?

I think you might get a couple of parti colours, maybe a brindle or two, there will be blues as well. If I knew the KC names of the sire and dam it would help and I could tell you more.

Sire is called Tallys Rambo and mum enchanting Skye rocket (nimrodel/elaphine lines)

Well both Nimrodel and Elaphine carry blue and blacks in their lines, be interesting to see what she produces. Keep me posted please.

Hi my wife has actually been in touch with you to express our interest in your forthcoming pups. She is very interested in the genetics of colour and has been pouring over the whippet archives. She thinks that from the limited information available your pups will be blue or blue brindle with some parti or irish marked.A bit confused though as you describe Tallys Rambo as silver brindle but in the archive he is described as blue brindle. It will be really interesting to see what appears.

Hi is your wife Linda?

I know Rambo was registered as a blue brindle but to me he was definately silver. My very first Whippet was a blue brindle parti.

I'm so excited to see what colour the puppies are!

Indeed Linda is my good lady and she is excited about the prospect of the possible colours. Please let us know what happens

Hi there our old dark brindle coursing bitch Bonnie that you have seen Wull was lined to a blue and white trim dog and they produced a silver brindle as well out her first litter and both mum and dad were out of sooty Sam lines Then there's our little Lucy whom is a 14lb black ped racer(Angels will fly) was bred into Hateley whom is a black and white parti colour(Black and white domino) and she produced 2 black and white parti colours and a blue white trim that no one ever expected but she is lovely and some times we notice that there can be throw backs from years ago hope this helps.

Thankyou for the replies.41 days today.and of course I will let you and linda know
