I support Many Tears Animal Rescue which is based in South Wales, it was one of the rescues involved with getting up the petition to stop using the captive bolt gun after the GSD debarcle in Wales in 2009. Their website has been upgraded and i can't find the link to the info that they received from the RSPCA regarding numbers of dogs euthanised while in their care !! but it was a huge number, they also gave numbers of the amount of dogs that had been killed using the captive bolt gun, which was a very large number, this info was released on the freedom of information act.

I have followed many tears for some time now and know they do fantastic work.

The only probelm with many tears for me is that it is an outlet for 'breeders' to 'get rid' of their unwanted breeding dogs and doesn't actually encourrage these breeders to stop. But I guess the alternative is worse so it's kind of like a catch 22 situation.

Dispite this though, they have helped so many dogs out of a breeding situation and into homes.

It's taken Sylvia time to build bridges with some of the puppy farmers, she bites her tongue given what she would really like to say and do to them, but then they would'n allow her to rehabilitate and rehome the ex breeding dogs, its a necessary evil as far as she is concerned, the alternative is that they would just be shot and burried on the owners land or they would be left to starve to death.

She does'nt have the biggest fan club off breeders because of her views but those who trust her not to cause trouble means so many dogs get to spend at least some time in a pet home being loved.

I know that the rescue has had more than it's fair share of abuse in the past, which is a shame really.

I understand the necessary evil bit, it's just a shame that it comes at a cost really.

I think the work the rescue does is brilliant and if the dogs they rescue can have some sort of normal life then that's all that matters.
