What do you feed your dogs?

Hi,

I am just wondering what you feed your dogs? Wetfood? Dryfood? Raw? And which brand?

I am trying to feed Rocky a grain-free diet even though I am not bothered with a bit of grains (no more than 5% though). As he is small I feed him wetfood in the morning and dryfood in the evening, even though I want to change it all to wetfood.

I always change brands inbetween to not get Rocky too picky so at the moment I am having Nature Diet, Terra Canis and Lily's Kitchen wetfood, and Arcana, Orijen and Purizon dryfood. As an addition he gets natural chews such as dried beef, venison sinews, venison tongue, dried chicken & fish and some treats.

So this was for Rocky, how about your dogs?
 
winter mine get a lot pheasents rabbits and venison mixed in way veg and pasta rest year meat fron slaughter house beef so on mixed way veg and pasta also some tripe and if I get them mackerel and trout heads the lot they love it
 
To be honest i find a food that they like and agrees wuth them amd stick by it, in my findings the more you change about the more chance you could get a fussy picky dog, my dogs always get sardines, veg, pasta, egg, and the odd can of butchers with tripe to add vairity.
 
Can't say Rocky is picky though. Rocky eats absolutely everything at the moment which I am really happy about. Also I am still trying to find the "perfect food" for us. I think I might stick to the Lily's Kitchen wetfood eventually.

I feed my dogs a hypoallergenic dry diet from pure gold pet food. Their food is not full of rubbish like some others, and it compares to other more expensive brands but alot less money. My dogs were itching and chewing their feet which prompted me to look at their diet.

I am one very happy customer and so are my dogs more importantly!! :thumbsup:

Just been onto their website as I'd never heard of them before and couldn't find them on whichdogfood.co.uk... They seem okay:

Puppy:

chicken Meal, Rice, Maize, Oats, chicken Fat, Sugar Beet Pulp, Fish Meal, Chicken Hydrolysate, Brewers Yeast, Egg Powder, Linseeds, Salmon Oil, Minerals, Vitamins, DL- Methionine, Mannanoligosaccharides, Fructooligosaccharides, L-Carnitine, Yucca Schidigera Extract, Glucosamine, Methylsulfonylmethane, Chondroitin Sulphate

I find it strange that their puppy food contains L-Carnitine... as this ingredient helps to break down fat? Surely not needed in a food for a growing puppy?

Adult:

poultry meal (26%), rice (26%), Barley, Oats, Poultry Fat, Sugar Beet Pulp, Fish Meal, Brewers Yeast, Minerals, Vitamins, Yucca Schidigera Extract.

Quite a low percentage of protein in the adult food.

This is what I feed my puppy (Eden):

Ingredients: Chicken, 19%, Chicken 17% (from Dried Chicken), Salmon, 16%,

Herring 14% (from Dried Herring), Potato 10%, Sweet Potato 5%, Chicken Fat 5%, Duck 4% (from Dried Duck), Whole Egg 3% (from Dried Egg), Chicken Gravy 2%, White Fish 2%, Lucerne, Pea Fibre, Mineral & Vitamins, Carrot, Spinach, Apple, Joint Support Pack (Glucosamine (355mg/Kg), MSM (355mg/Kg) & Chondroitin (250mg/Kg)), Rosehips, Camomile, Burdock Root, Aniseed & Fenugreek, Thyme, Marjoram, Oregano, Seaweed, Cranberry and Prebiotic FOS
