It'd be nice if you told us a bit more about it, rather than just posting a link off...

Hi BigPaws,

It would be my pleasure. Lishinu is a retractable dog leash (3m) that you wear it on your arm (read on, no danger I will explain ;) ) - in this way it keeps both of your hands free. To control the dog it has an integrated auto-lock system. The easiest way to explain how it works is to imagine car seatbelt locking. Because of this you can answer the phone, carry the bags, open the door,... tie your shoes - as simple as when you are without the leash - with both of your hands. Now that is getting cold, a person can even keep the hands in the pockets!

To put it on and get read of it is very easy because it has a strap belt. A person can just pull the strap and it goes off instantly (in case of an extreme situation). Even though is light and small - it is still very strong. Internal locking mechanism is made out of stainless metal parts, the outer shell is glass fiber reinforced and the cord is made of the same material used in parachutes. It is designed for up to 40 kg, but was tested above 80! Its build in EU - Slovenia and is a high quality product.

I know its quite different from everything you used up to date but you get used to it really quickly and once you master it, you just forget about the rest. I forgot to mention, because you keep your hands free is also perfect for runners!

The leash started out as a response to a rather bitter life experience we had, when our dog Red, an adopted greyhound ran away. After four days of search we finally found him - thankfully he was 'safe and sound'. To prevent this from ever happening we started looking for a solution where a dog could not ran away- and thus came Lishinu. We tested it from Coton de Tulear to Greyhound and Stafford Terrier, ... Many different dogs with different owners and it performed great!

So I guess you have tons of questions, I would suggest to check the link to the crowd funding campaign - we included a video so you can see how it worked and lots of other descriptions.

If you have more questions, go ahead and ask me. But because I am so busy you will get a faster response if you maybe just send me a message on the campaign or at Facebook.com/lishinu (you can send me a link to the question on this forum) and I will answer it here!

Cheers

I loath retractable leads, can see no reason for them...they are dangerous when people use them on footpaths by roads, lethal if used when other dogs are running near, lethal to ankles as dogs wrap around you...lethal to necks when dogs shoot to the end of them and come to a rapid halt

if you have a dog you cannot let off, it just walks along at the end of a retractable lead just the same as it would a metre long traditional lead

In my opinion they should be banned

I use an extending lead on Rocky but only when he is wearing his harness, I have found it very useful as it gives him some freedom to have a good

sniff around while I still have him under control. I would not have it fully extended when on a path or near any traffic though

we do need to use a little comman sense, I know there isn't much around.

I want a harness for my ebt, so what is so good about an retractable lead?? i want a decent lead as my girl pulls me too much so i'd love something I can just let her wander off with,
