Now ive been told on this site that your not to hurt other dogs when they are coming into attack, well im always alert and ready to shift some punishment to the attacker well out last week with both lurchers and mastiff x well the black dog in pic has a good nose and as i enter field he alerts me of somethink so they stay on lead but i cant see a thing but i carry on walking, about 600 yards away i see a woman walking away from me but no dog to be seen then woosh a dog from the side of me attacks and does some damage to my brindle the mastiff protects and i get into the dog and make him back off, the owner gets frog marched back out off field and agrees vet bill, all is well now but be very aware we are not always safe, next time well im just not gunna get caught out again, i thought i would never get caught out and thats why the attacking dog must get a boot or stick in my view..

in my point of view- if my dog is on leash and other dog attacks you or your dog, your dog has a right to protect- what is he supposed to do- let the other dog hurt him or you? no! If my dog would hurt another dog who was off leash attacking us i would pay no vet bills towards other dog. and if they wanted so much i would go to court. If the dog has enough size and strength to hurt you, you should not challenge him and you have a right to have your dog to protect you
