Chewing feet and limping on alternate feet

Rocket has been with me for a few days now.

One of the times we met him at the rescue we played with him in a large muddy field, he kept getting mud caked on his back left leg and limping, I got him to sit and gave him some treats and investigated, he let me look at his foot and gently squeeze and there were no yelps or twinges, I thought he was disliking the mud and mentioned it to the rescue staff who hadnt noticed a limp.

Every day he limps a little holding up this paw for a minute or so then everything is fine and he jumps and runs like he is a puppy, he also does the same wit the front right paw. Again, on investigation no cuts or splinters and no aparent pain.

He had 4 teeth out under a week ago so they switched him from Wagg dry (yes i know, bad food) to wet food so he could have anti biotics added. He is still on the wet and the anti biotics (today is the last day for those) and ive slowly started adding a little james wellbeloved grain free, as he has been chewing at all four paws quite a bit, and a previous dog I had did this on food with wheat, also I dont want to reintroduce Wagg.

He is back at the rescue vets on Wednesday (its currently sunday) for another injection so obviously i'll mention it then. But wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

He is a jack russel patterdale cross, 8 yrs old, neutered and almost up to date on jabs, has been wormed and de-flead recently. Isnt off his food and very energetic for his age.

He has been energetic but calm and controlled with it, if that makes sense. Today we did a longer walk, albeit nice and slowly (im out of practice too ) and when we returned home he had the zoomies in the most manic way ive ever seen a dog get zoomies. He is chilled out now, but he worked himself up so much he was coughing up clear phlegm or spit and really gnawing on his feet.

he may have a grass seed in his paw just check inside and around the paw that is affected... look for signs of stress when doing it i.e. Licking tongue whining ect...

The hind leg might be a luxating patella. It is very common in Jacks, it is even referred to as the Jack Russell skip. The kneecap slips out of place, it is essentially a dislocation. So if he skips a bit then goes back to normal that could be it slipping out of place, then back to normal. There are four grades ordered in severity. If it is bad there is a fairly straightforward surgical ppocedure to fix it. The vet can easily check, and advise if he thinks surgery is needed. The front paw could be almost anything, so sorry I can't be much help with that.

This is exactly what it is. A random encounter with a JRT breeder sent me to google, the vets confirmed it and he is perfectly fine with it. I may have watched cute skipping vids on youtube for a few hours for further research
