...he poos about 4 times a day and wees 7-10 times a day.
Is that normal for a pup of his age?
.

Wow! - let me see if i've got the facts straight -
he's approx 6-MO, he's not yet housetrained, he won't urinate at all in the fully-paved back yard of the house but pees indoors consistently, & last but not least, he averages FOUR stools daily, & urinates 7 to TEN TIMES each day?!?!...
No, i would not say that's "normal" for a 6-MO dog.

How many meals per day is he fed? -
generally, young pups have as many stools as they have meals, so an 8 to 10-WO toy-breed pup who's fed 3 to 4X each day [such as a Chihuahua, as they're prone to hypoglycemia when very young, & need frequent small meals] will produce 3 to 4 tiny stools, each day.
Once they're a little older, 3 to 5-MO, & eating 2 to 3X per day, the number of stools drops to 1 or 2, larger stools, per day.

This pup isn't a teeny-weeny toy pup, nor is he an under-3-MO infant - he's pubertal, & as far as Mother Nature is concerned, he's an adult - he can breed anytime. // I can't imagine a 6-MO voiding 4 stools each day, every day of the week! That's quite incredible.
Is he being overfed? - too much in = too much to push out, much of it only semi-digested.

Re the urinary issues:
does he have a shipping-crate for safe confinement indoors? // If not, that's my #1 task:
i'd buy a used airline-approved shipper. See GumTree, PreLoved, CraigsList, etc, for used shipping crates. Used saves approx half the new-retail cost.

To determine the correct size, take him to any pet-supply & try on their floor-model shipping crates, or even wire "Show" crates [just don't buy a show crate; they're dangerous in transit, & IME are a lousy design for in-home use, as the shallow trays splatter, crack / bend / warp /split / rust / flake paint, depending on whether they're plastic or sheet-metal; they leak & overflow, M dogs can pee thru the mesh sides onto the household furnishings or carpets, etc, etc].
Shipping crates have solid bottoms of a single molded body; they cannot leak, & good models have a raised inner deck with a shallow moat around it, so that spills [vomit, food, urine, diarrhea...] run into the moat, & the dog is relatively clean & needn't lie in the mess, waiting to be let out.
Shipping crates are the gold standard for safe pet-transport, & provide a virtually inescapable safe place to confine a dog, with privacy for the dog & protection from floor-level drafts [as soon as they lie down, they're invisible, except via the door itself].

2nd, i'd buy 2 belly-bands for him -- one to wear, one as a spare -- he'd wear one ALL THE TIME in the house, it'd only come off when we're outdoors, & the disposable panty-liner in it would be replaced every 12-hrs minimum, plus whenever it's soiled or dirty.

3rd, he'd be on a leash for every potty-trip, & i'd play ping-pong.
Out the door, take him to that 2-ft x 3-ft Astro-turf welcome mat, remove his belly-band, wait 5 to 10-mins... patiently; don't play with the dog, don't play CandyCrush on yer mobile, don't talk to him, don't walk about, STAND THERE & BE A POST. Watch birds, count clouds, read the tags on passing cars & make mental bets as to whether the next tag will end odd or even. Do anything, but STAND there.
No results? - put on his belly-band, go indoors, pop him into the crate. // 10 to 15-mins later, REPEAT - & keep repeating it, 5 to 10 outside, nude, 10 to 15 in the crate, CLOTHED, until he finally pees.
Carry very-high-value tidbits along every time - pea-sized bits of lean diced beef, chkn-breast, pouch tuna, freeze-dried lamb-lung or FD green tripe, etc. Be prepared to give him a JACKPOT when he finally urinates outdoors - 6 to 12 individual, pea-sized or half-pea sized tidbits of low-fat protein, each one delivered singly just as fast as he swallows the previous one, with a nonstop flow of warm, quiet, sincere praise, as a sauce to accompany his jackpot.

Getting the 1st success is the big hurdle - after that, it gets easier & easier. ;)

It's considered normal for a dog to poo from once to five times a day (a trawl of the internet brings this up in several places). My dog tends towards the latter - he'll often poo at the start of a walk and then again later on the walk, as the exercise gets the digestion moving. So I wouldn't worry about him pooing four times a day.

As for weeing, certainly male dogs can wee loads of times as they feel the need to anoint every tree or lamppost, and every place a dog has weed before! If your dog isn't yet housetrained, he's probably just not developed the skills to hang on at the slightest urge.

Lol information overload... But thank you... I appreciate it.
He's fed twice daily, he averages 4 poos a day but they are small and properly formed. Not massive or loose.
The belly band thing is interesting... I never knew you could get such a thing!
My friend is going to clear some bushes from the corner of her garden and put some turf down in the hope it will entice him to wee there.
He has a crate which we are also trying to get him accustomed to. He's happy being in the crate, just hates being locked in it, but he's getting better.

@leashedForLife My Olive does 4-10 wees a day and 2-7 poos a day so i don't think that's that bad for a 6 month old puppy! I like you answer @JudyN because yes some places on the internet give wrong answers.

Oh, you've noticed!
yes I'm sorry! its because i was reading an article this morning about feeding the puppies, and it said that puppies cant have raw meat but obviously they can; raw feeding.
I am sorry that i have been very argumentative on this topic, and i now know why people dislike me and what i put on the forum I'm sorry.

Not true :).

The trouble with forums is that its easy to misinterpret what others type. Add in to that the different languages people speak, different levels of typing ability, different ways people have of articulating things, cultural differences, and it's easy to understand why sometimes arguments can flare up beyond reasonable discussion. I've not seen any evidence of that here, and I do try to read as many posts as I can (I'm not a moderator here, just very interested in what goes on). I speak from experience having run my own forums in the past and being an active member of a few now. Of course, sometimes you get idiots on forums who post just to inflame/offend others, but again, I've not seen that here. There will be differences of opinions, and that's natural whatever subject the forum concerns, but so long as these are discussed politely and respectfully - and I think they are here - I don't see an issue :).

Thank you @arealhuman because on a few posts i feel like users dislike me and my posts.

I've not been on this forum long but have found you extremely helpful Violet. That goes for many of the others on here, I've learnt more just reading the posts on this thread then I ever did when I was researching on the Internet for tips!
@Mrs S Thank you, all i want is the best for us and our animals! to here i have been helpful is amazing! :)

Thank you, looking into belly bands atm, trying to work out if it's worth a try.
in my experience, they are a waste of money, the positive reinforcement way is easer than nappies in my opinion. But they might work in your case.

We will of course continue with the positive reinforcement, taking him out frequently until he gets the hang of it... The belly band would just be used in addition to this.

okay, you can still try wee on a piece of grass in the garden?.

That's also in the plan, friend is just clearing all the shrubs from one corner where there is a flower bed and she's going to put some turf on that. I think once he starts going in the garden he'll continue to do it... It's just getting him to start!!
