He is stunning! I especially love the first picture.....typical Border Collie stance! <3

Thanks yes there are a number of classic Border Collie poses. Another is front on with his head slightly bowed with one paw lifted off the ground ready to pounce. I also have a few of him jumping stiles when we go hiking but might try him on agility which would allow us lots more classic photos like pole weaving.

After a back injury that left Oscar unable to chase balls or anything else, I discovered a game with him that incorporated his love of the ball but was more challenging. He was turned away from the field ..I then threw a ball. and using only commands away, comebye and too (as a run away or go to command) I would 'help 'him find the ball. It only took one afternoon to learn but it gave me better handling skills and him fulfillment in his life as a replacement for the running.
I think without it he would have been miserable.

Yes they do need to work and ideally something that is working alongside you. Archie loves hide and seek where either my partner or I hide and he has to find us. He's improving. How long did it take for your dog to learn the commands like away and comebye?

Hi... Oscar was a rescue so the first year was just recovery. The I just used the commands combined with hand signals whenever we played so he just picked it up. He also knew signs for sit stay down up and left or right ...again just picked up during play.. with a lift of my head he knew to go fetch too. Truely remarkable dogs.

well, it sure is a good thing that Archie is so laid-back & easygoing. :)
