Ive been having a bit of a cookery thing going on the last two days ..Ive made blueberry jam , redcurrant and cardamon jelly, blueberry and lemon scones , the normal bread for the week and tonight I've got roasted veg with feta cheese in the oven..
I'd say Ill take a rest tomorrow but Sunday means Sunday lunch!
Oooo, I love a good old scone :) Not for me I don't think as we are flying back tomorrow cold weather. Feta cheese with roasted veg sounds amazing!

It's my birthday today so tea was delivery pizza, pavlova and champagne sat on the sofa :D And lunch was cake

Now DS2 has left home, he's out of practice at managing food round Jasper, so Jasper's tea, in addition to his normal mince & carcasse, was two slices of filched pizza  They were still very hot and he took a long time eating them, so I'm really hoping he hasn't burnt his mouth. He seems fine at the moment though.

Happy Birthday!. Is your dog OK now?

.

exciting wait - I've ordered a delivery from an Indian restaurant, one relatively-new to the area, & brand-new to me. [Not a chain - single location, family owned & run.]
I haven't had any nice Indian food since... Oct? / Nov?, it might even have been Sept, when i had a buffet lunch in Arlington.

I'm getting tandoori roti with my Aloo Gobi Masala - i asked the cook to skip the bell-pepper & sub extra peas; it will come with jasmine rice, & i'm getting raita, too. :D I'll let U know how it is - scheduled for 6:30 local time, so U guys in the UK will either be abed or winding down, by then.

Happy birthday hope you enjoyed your day :) , I hope Jasper is okay now :(

Thank you, @doggie1 @excuseme and @Violet Turner :) He seems fine. He doesn't even bother trying to nick food off us unless we do something silly like turn our backs for a couple of milliseconds, but he must have been so aware that DS2 was distracted. But hey, lurchers are poacher's dogs so it's only to be expected;)

Just check in the morning if he will eat his food, if not then I suggest a trip to the vets. Wow, a greedy boy then as you say he is a lurcher so he will do silly things :)

Happy Birthday @JudyN - sounds like a great day! :)

Uh oh they don’t help themselves sometimes do they!

.

don't be too hard on him, @JudyN - every dog ever born is opportunistic. Dogs can eat an entire meal all over again, 30-seconds after they consumed one!

I always tell my client's wife when i feed their grand-dog - he was an island dog, feral & scavenging, & was rescued, vetted, brought to the USA, & adopted. // He NEVER EVER EVER stops searching for anything remotely edible, on the floor, in trashcans, & he'll raid counter-tops or anywhere else, if U don't stay in the room with the food & watch him like a hawk.
If i were to feed him & not tell the next person, he'd cadge another meal - he's always telling ppl that he hasn't eaten in days, he's STARVING... :p

______________________________

ooh, my meal was luscious! - the entree was just spicy-enuf, the jasmine rice smelt like heaven, the raita was fresh-made with super-fine carrot shreds, minced garlic, & minced skinless / seedless cuke.
I am having the roti for dessert, dipping it in the leftover raita - it was made in a wood-fired oven, so it has lovely lightly charred bubbles here & there, & it's alive - stretchy & slightly chewy. :) Very, very happy! :)

My churros were delightful, but OH got beer and I cant have any :(... So I had a mocktail instead.

Thank you @FrankieDoodle :) How was the pulled 'pork'? I would possibly go vegan if I wasn't so darned fussy and if the alternatives I liked wouldn't all be imported from the other side of the world.

@leashedForLife if I was going to tell anyone off it would be DS2 for being so careless. Any self-respecting lurcher would have done the same ;)

Today's meals will consist mainly of leftover pizza and cake

How is Jasper's mouth? I'm glad you had a great birthday. :)
I've just had some pan-chocolate with a mug of fresh coffee, then later I am having a quick meal probably olive oil and balsamic vinegar with beget, then for dinner I think I will make sausage and mash :)

I honestly felt great at first, but then about a year into it I actually felt like I was going crazy! I was actually questioning my sanity at one point - couldn't really focus and felt as though there was a fog (never want to feel like that again). A blood panel revealed I was deficient in iron, zinc, vit d, I can't remember what the last one was. I'm not trying to discourage people, quite the contrary. I think a vegan diet can be very healthy, but it needs to be planned to make sure you're meeting all your nutritional requirements (something I didn't do).

It was really lovely. Unfortunately it is imported though which is a shame. In case anyone wants to try it it's in Tescou

.

2 SUPER-sources for iron that are vegan: raisins [dark] & molasses - unsulfured blackstrap, the sort used in gingerbread, carrot cake, bran muffins... :)

there are also good multi-vitamins to meet yer basic needs, such as Fusion brand vits [i get the gummy vits, peach-flavor]
Not organic, i wish!, but no fake colors, synthetic preservatives, etc.

I wouldn't eat well either, @FrankiDoodle, and my food miles & packaging would increase massively. I do have vegan friends who are very healthy, but another who tried to go vegan, really worked at eating healthily, but didn't do well on it.

Tea tonight was leftover pizza, pavlova (me) and cake (OH) There will be leftover champagne later:):):) Tomorrow will be beans on toast as I'll have no time to shop, but the rest of the week will be VERY healthy, I promise:D

.

well, that tears it. I just ate 2 slices of Irish soda-bread, broiled on each side, with butter.
they tasted so good, i then broiled, buttered, & ate a 3rd.

I've concluded that from now on, i'll broil any Irish soda-bread i get - it darkened the raisins, crisped the exterior, & left the inside of the slice warm, tender, & crumbly.... OMG. // Save me, i want a 4th slice!...
