Yet another mass shooting...

This time, a football video-gaming tournament in a pizza bar, in Jacksonville, Fla.
So far, 15 known victims; 11 wounded, 4 dead, & one of those 4 is a suspect, rumored to have shot himself after opening fire on others. Many ppl are still sheltering in place, in locked rooms within the building; the sheriff’s office is asking them to alert the SWAT team to their location, using 911 on their mobile phones, & to stay put - they will come & get them, it’s not safe to come out yet.

Sad, angry, frustrated. :(. Too many times, far too many deaths, injuries, parents losing children, kids losing parents, friends & relatives gone... it does not stop.

The only good news today in this awful event is that “only” 3 ppl died; the gunman, who was a 24-YO man, & 2 of those that he shot.
One victim, hit in the chest, is in serious condition but expected to survive; the others are less badly injured, & some with minor injuries, including a young woman who was trampled by the fleeing crowd, are already discharged.

Until the US changes it’s attitude towards guns, this will sadly just be another statistic to add to the many gone and to come .
 
Unfortunately its not just gun ownership that causes the problem, for example Switzerland has a high number of privately owned guns but has a near zero murder rate. Their must be something in the general society in the USA that leads to using extreme violence. The UK would appear to be heading the same way but using knives.

I agree about knife crime it seems to be on the increase with the younger generation, but they don’t cause mass massacrers, like you see in the US, one lone gunman can take out many people in out outburst, why do people need to buy some of these guns that can shoot hundreds of bullets in a few mins, until the US change it’s attitude to “their right to bare armies “ it’s wont stop.

I have Swiss family and after they finish their compulsory army placement they are given their own gun to take home (locked away securely)

I think they have more respect and the army training gives them discipline.
