I'm really annoyed with myself because I forgot all about it and didn't go outside to look:mad:

Most people on FB are reacting and saying it was too cloudy where they were. It was much lower on the horizon than the night before though so if you live in a built up area I doubt you would have seen much anyway..

But mark the calender for the next one 21 jan 2019..

Too cloudy here last night to see the moon. Clouds for the first time in about two months!

Not todays walk which was a nice calm one in the woods but last nights last walk.. Murphy and I had walked around the park and entered via the main road where theres a poo bin for his deposit... Just past that we met BC Tess who is 11 weeks. Chatting about decent walking places we heard a noise like firecrackers and turned to see huge branches of the tree next to the poo bin peeling off the tree and crashing to the spot Murphy and I had been standing just a couple of minutes earlier... phew... a near miss. Luckily no one was hurt.

This morning on the lower part of the heath:

Jasper is good around horses but I did pop him on lead when we were up close just in case he was feeling friendly and wanted to sniff their bums.

I met a friend who has two pointers, but she only had her older dog with her. The younger one, A, had been bitten by an adder and had a really bad reaction three weeks ago. She took her to her usual vet, where she had to stay in on a drip, but the vet's seemed really offhand and unconcerned. She ended up with a leg the size of an elephants, a massive accumulation of fluid, and her skin split under the pressure causing all the fluid to leak out:eek: Once she was back home she was still terribly swollen, couldn't walk and was in awful pain, but the vets just told the owner to carry on with the painkillers. In the end she took her to another vet - who happens to be my vet - who got her sorted out and on the right drugs straight away. He said that the notes that had been sent over from the other vets didn't match at all what he was seeing, and that if she'd had the right treatment to start with she would have had a far easier time of it.

Apparently my vet's seen six adder bites in the past couple of weeks. Don't forget your Piriton, folks!

Todays walk threw up some happy memories. It was one of Bennys favourites and one he memorised off lead so he could follow it even when his sight fully failed him. But what was a good walk for a 15 year old was not enough for a bouncy two year old so we went round twice and took some side paths just to keep Murphy happy.

Todays walk... If I could give you all a gift it would be a walk like todays.. A clear sky a full moon a sunrise that heaped colour on colour and the company of loved ones.. Perfect.

Just beautiful - thank you for posting these, MM.

Dribbles and I walked to the Moon and back. (Actually it's the Half Moon)
The fields were white with hoarfrost and the road, black ice.
If I'd have had a camera the photo would have been in monochrome.

Merry Christmas one and all.

Merry Christmas , since Murphy has been with us Christmas day has meant breakfast al fresco and a good long walk this morning was no different and it was beautiful.

We are exploring a nature reserve area near to us called Turkey and Greece! All that way and Murphy doesnt even need a passport. Its lovely and this morning I was remided that walking the dog isnt just about exercising them or yourself its about feeding your soul with moments like this...

@JudyN has a new camera and this is the place to show it off!

I would if we were having any decent walks at the moment! The combination of my knee and the hot weather mean that OH is doing the proper morning walk and if it's cool enough to walk in the afternoon I just have a very short walk somewhere boring.

(Knee update: I have a diagnosis of torn meniscus and am on the waiting list for keyhole surgery. However, it's actually much less painful at the moment so I can walk further, as the torn bit has wedged itself firmly between shinbone & thighbone rather than flapping about. I just can't straighten my leg as it's acting like a door wedge!)

I would, but the last twice I have tried to upload photos I have had an error message saying they are too large. They are just from my phone, about 4.7 mb - what size are your photos @Mad Murphy?

I make huge pictures so I reduce the size to 1000x750 pixels I think thats 0.7mp
